  1. ARM Computers web site has closed. I ran it as a free resource for many years, unfortunately as costs increased I was left with changing to a subscription site, asking for donations or closing. For personal reasons I chose the latter. I was also aware than most of my site had been 'ripped off' by Flyaway Simulations so stuff can be obtained from them. If there is anything particular that you need I can still make it available directly from my master files. Tony
  2. Guys, For the past several months I have been forwarding purchase requests to Paul Chaney for those wishing to buy Horizon Products. As of this morning Paul has re-opened the Horizon web site to enable direct purchase of any and all volumes that you may be missing from your set. The address is: https://www.horizonsimulation.com/shop/ The shop will be open for a limited time only and delivery will be via USB stick, either purchased with software or at reduced cost if you supply your own. Tony
  3. Guys, All the volumes from Horizon and Playsims are still available direct from the original developer, Paul Chaney. I have been in contact with him this past weekend, 20-21/01/18 and he has given me his contact email for anyone wishing to purchase a single volume or a full set of scenery for either FS9 or FSX. That is ten volumes for each, so, for those who thought Volume 7 for FS9 was never made, it was! Paul has asked that I only pass on his contact details to anyone wanting to make a purchase. He can not assist if you have purchased old discs which turn out to be faulty or your original set has got scratched or otherwise damaged. If you would like to contact Paul then please message me for his email address. Tony
  4. Hi Paul, When installing Horizon scenery in anything other than Windows XP never let the disc auto-run. Stop that process and right mouse click on the setup file then select run as administrator. That should resolve the problem. As I made the patches for all the Horizon volumes you can still download those from the following location: - http://arm-computers.co.uk/ Regards Tony Meredith
  5. Hi Stuart, I have sent you a PM regarding your problem. If the discs won't read in the drive try cleaning with spectacles cleaner and a soft cloth. Tony
  6. Guys, Further to my last post regarding availability of the Horizon Volumes via myself and Scotflight, I have to report that our contract expired at the end of April 2016. We are no longer able to supply the Volumes, however, I can report that Horizon are looking at other avenues to bring the product back to life in the longer term. If you require more information you can contact Horizon via the following page: http://www.horizonsimulation.com
  7. Looking at the line below, if accurate, your trees don't appear because they are in "Texures" folders and therefore invisible to FSX. The secret is in the "S". They need to be in a Texture folder without that "s". Let me know how you get on. Tony
  8. Hi John, They are located in the modified Autogen files that ES products update as part of the "ESI" install. I have copies of the "ES Help Desk" on my own site. These two links may help and save me copying here:- http://www.arm-computers.co.uk/EarthSims_Help/Q_1_/Q_2_/Q_3_/Q_4_/Q_5_/Q_6_/Q_7/Q_8/Q_9/Q_10/q_10.html http://www.arm-computers.co.uk/EarthSims_Help/Q_11/Q_12/q_12.html Tony
  9. SledDriver, ES trees for Volumes 1-3 use default trees as the base. Following complaints some trees were too big (an FSX problem not ES one), the trees for later volumes were custom modified and given their own guide numbers which requires the use of the ES modified Autogen descriptor files to get them to show. You may well be seeing some default trees from the set but missing the others because you don't have the guides indexed in the autogen files. Put simply, FSX doesn't know they exist so you don't see them.
  10. Guys, I am happy to report that all 10 Volumes of VFR Photo Scenery are now available by special order if you can't buy them anywhere else. Contrary to comments above, Horizon Simulations hasn't gone out of business because they are the people I am paying for allowing me to supply the volumes. I spoke with the MD only yesterday 25Feb16 as Scotflight Scenery have been commissioned to look at producing a new installer to allow the scenery to load directly to P3D and other simulators. Scotflight already have an installer that handles their products into multiple formats. The Volumes will not be supplied via DVD as I have spent many hours helping fellow simmers get the data off that media and onto the hard drive. It will be supplied via 64GB USB or 64GB SD card. Multiple Volumes can be supplied via larger capacity media and if you are UK based you can supply your own media. Details available via my own site www.arm-computers.co.uk or shortly from http://www.scotflightscenery.com In respect of Volume 7 for FS9, again the information above is wrong. It was produced and I have a master copy. If you need a copy I am happy to contact Horizon for pricing. Please PM me with your requirements. Volume 7 Treescapes was only ever released as a download. Unfortunately having been a contributor to ES when they closed down my requests to sell that product fell on deaf ears. Having produced many areas of trees some of which were incorporated into ES products I am happy to include Trees for Volume 7 but not Treescapes. I hope this helps clear up fact from fiction.
  11. I have ESI 2.5 available on my own site along with the patchs made for IOM, Guernsey and Alderney. I also host the patches for the Horizon Scenery products. www.arm-computers.co.uk TonyM
  12. Guys, Just for information. Since ES folded I have done my best to give support to people referred to me by Flightstore. Referrals are not always same day and I do have a life outside of Flight Simulation, but, I think I have been able to resolve most problems. I don't spend a lot of time going around all the forums and found this section by chance, so, can I just say to those wanting a section on ES that one already exists on the Flightstore Forum: - http://forum.flightstore.co.uk/ I see a link already here to a document I created so at least one has found the forum. If you want ESI 2.5 to transfer stuff into FSXse or P3D I host that at www.arm-computers.co.uk though why you would want to use it is beyond me. Happy flying TonyM
