  1. $469 Aussie for GTX970 & $799 for the GTX980Ti - so half as much again is a bit of a stretch (if we are now in the margins for performance)???
  2. Hi All, I'm looking to make the transition from FSX to Prepar3d. I'm currently running a GTX760 on my i4670K rig. Do you think a GTX970 is worth it or required? I thought with the release of NVIDIA's new cards, and the corresponding price drop it might be worth the investment. Cheers, Mark B.
  3. You are right (of course) - I was thinking of BeThere! My mistake. I still prefer XPause.
  4. Both options should work. Iwillbeback is a gauge to be added to the panel, xpause uses fsuipc. I prefer xpause as it uses the flight plan to predict TOD and is external to the panel. It can also pause based an altitude and a test of other variables. IWillBeBack uses N miles from a lat/long. B.
  5. Here you go... Good luck. Server-side (FSX Machine) simconnect.ini in C:\Users\Billy\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files [SimConnect] level=verbose console=0 ;RedirectStdOutToConsole=1 ;OutputDebugString=1 ;file=c:\simconnect%03u.log ;file_next_index=0 ;file_max_index=9 simconnect.xml in %appdata%\fsx [note I run FSX-SE by itself] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"> <Descr>SimConnect Server Configuration</Descr> <Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <!-- Example Global (remote) IPv4 Server Configuration--> <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol> <Scope>global</Scope> <MaxClients>64</MaxClients> <Address>192.168.0.23</Address> <Port>500</Port> <!-- <MaxReceiveSize>4096</MaxReceiveSize> <DisableNagle>False</DisableNagle> --> </SimConnect.Comm> <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>Auto</Protocol> <Scope>local</Scope> </SimConnect.Comm> </SimBase.Document> Client-side (Laptop) simconnect.cfg in c:\users\Billy\Documents [SimConnect] Protocol=IPv4 Address=192.168.0.23 Port=500 MaxReceiveSize=4096 DisableNagle=0
  6. Sure... I'm away from my pc, but will publish in the next day or so.
  7. Do you use FSX:SE? There is an updated simconnect file that needs to be run alongside the other simconnects.
  8. 1. It is on the left end of the throttle handle. 2. Between 3 and 8 ticks to the right seems good (depending on weather) 3. Make use of vnav or some healthy vertical descent calcs to get you at the IAF low and slow enough. B.
  9. You might also want to think about moving the files to another hard drive and then create a symbolic link (symlink) to the moved folder to make it look like it is still there. B.
  10. Yep. You can change the display to show the flight plan like an overhead plan. You can also use the prev/next on the fms to cycle through the waypoints to check for gaps. If you are more of a video/visual person rather than study the manual, have a look at FightOrFlight on YouTube - there is an excellent video from start to finish flying the Q400 across Norway. 11. That's the one - thanks Ben. I must've seen it in your training videos or on the site. Cheers, Billy
  12. Hi All, Does anyone know of a site that maps the recommended seating layout based on the number of passengers? For example if I have 33 passengers; that could be modelled as 6 in OA, 10 in OB, 11 in OC, and 5 in OD. I know I've seen this on the interweb, but can't find again, and I can't recall how I stumbled on it in the first place. Cheers, Billy.
  13. Might be worth checking your key mappings. I think the default is space bar, and you want to change it to scroll lock. Have a look at common_settings (either cfg file or mediator) and see what the toggle is. Also double check that key isn't mapped to something in your sim. B.
  14. Fantastic set.
  15. And I forgot my manners... Thanks for sharing David. B.
