  1. If I may offer some perspective... For me personally the negativity comes from a lack of transparency and communication from the dev team during the alpha and beta phases of the game, and contrasting it to what was promised. Many of the bugs and incomplete features of the game have been there since alpha (garbage flight model, temperamental live weather system, missing basic autopilot functions, game performance issues, downloader and backend issues). Whenever these topics were brought up, they were either completely ignored or given non answers to. And this was throughout the entire alpha and beta cycle. They gave us feature lists of things that were coming but never answers to things that needed addressed. Credit where it is due the game is beautiful and that can’t be argued. For some of us though, beauty is not near enough without functionality and it’s clear that MSFS lacks the latter.
  2. I know 2020 has been bad but at least gotta have some faith
  3. I've been in since alpha. Can't tell you how many hours I've put in TBF. What I can say is that issues that existed during the alpha still exist now, and whenever devs were approached with these issues and what they were doing to correct them, they talked around the subject or completely ignored it all together. A direct quote from their last Q/A when asked about autopilot malfunctions, live weather malfunctions, performance issues, and infrastructure issues in regards to their back end was "Its in the backlog". When I heard this, it was a MASSIVE red flag to me and was almost the point where I did not purchase the game. I kept faith and hope that things in the full release would be better. They clearly aren't. So I say again, for those sticking with it, have fun. I can take the money I spent on this and invest it elsewhere. See ya'll in 6-12 months and after 3-4 patches or however many it takes to get this game up to expectation...maybe.
  4. Just put in my request for refund for MSFS. Game is completely unacceptable in its current state. Visually stunning but far too many issues to count to justify starting a migration.
  5. Oooh. Scathing. I'm not asking for study level. I'm asking for something that isn't garbage. Maybe in 6-12 months after who knows how many patches or service packs the game will be actually worth the hype and the Game Pass subscription. Until then, have fun in your sandbox kids.
  6. Just put in my request for refund. I had faith and its been shattered. The state this game was released in is completely unacceptable. I would recommend that those of you who outright purchased the game instead of getting it through game pass do the same thing.
  7. No, this assessment is pretty spot on. Several of the games core functions are either broken or non functional. Content that was hyped up all through the dev cycle is completely borked and broken. Flight physics are GARBAGE (1200hrs between a TBM and a PC12) an infrastructure that is tempermental at best and nonexistent at worst, and a social media community that is quick to find naysayers and works to silence them. This release is quickly turning into a fiasco and unless some serious explanations are made, MS better not look at a flight sim franchise again.
  8. Lets be frank; the game is still a beta. There was nothing that changed from the "beta" build to the "current" build.
  9. The TBM is completely borked and has been since alpha. Best of luck hoping for it getting fixed.
  10. Ah, the "its working fine for me" reply, all the while ignoring the mounting number of posts stating the opposite.
  11. If I may preface, I want the sim to succeed. With such graphic potential its going to court casual simmers and VFR enthusiasts alike. In that respect I hope the sim succeeds. That being said, 90% of the issues that exist as is were in both the alpha and beta builds, and all subjects were talked around or completely ignored by the dev team. In the last Q/A before release, they addressed issues with weather with the following quote. "Its in the backlog". When I heard this it immediately sent up a red flag. Sure enough upon release, the build feels and behaves exactly the same as the beta. The late dev cycle of this game to me reeks of "rushed to release". To the game's credit it is absolutely beautiful (when its working 100% graphically) but it feels hollow with how many other issues trouble it. Be it the borked release, download speeds, installation errors, physics, graphical issues, weather issues, the list goes on. Personally the product we received is unacceptable and the entire MSFS team has some serious explaining to do.
  12. Autopilot across all aircraft has been bugged since alpha, be it unable to maintain steady course or altitude, or outright failure to operate at all. Granted you could hand fly IFR but that's not really standard practice?
