  1. Fair assumption.. but no.. Been on FS since the early 90s, and had RC4 pretty much since it came out.. I just never that problem before.. as for AvSim, I've been a lurker for a long long time.. LOL!
  2. The only reason why I started RC airborne is because of the problem as described in my original post. I usually don't do that.. I have flown the tutorial when I first got RC a few years ago..
  3. Kindof what I thought.. Just for the heck of it, I'll try and replicate the same situation as before (starting RC while in the air).. but you're probably right, just a weird fluke... thanks Ray!
  4. Standard FSX DC-3. It has always worked before with this aircraft. Just not this time. So I know it's not the aircraft itself, most likely something I did, but I have no idea what that could be...
  5. Short version: Co pilot is not taking over the controls. Long version: Uncontrolled airport, requested clearance, got it. Startup procedure, I taxied to runway 18, but there was another aircraft taking off from 26, so I waited patiently until he left (about 3 minutes). By then, there was less than 10 minutes between the time I requested clearance and the time I was ready to roll. So, I applied thrust, get positive climb, retract gear, then I hear the controller telling me I took too long, and RC closes. I figured, I can just reload RC while I'm in the air, load the flight plan and go from there. Didn't have an option to request clearance while flying, so I went through the whole clearance from the ground, taxi to runway 18, take off south, contact center, all is good. I can talk to the controller and request altitude change if I feel like it (tried up and down). However, when I hit Ctrl-Shift-M to pass controls over, I hear "My Plane", but co pilot is actually not controlling aircraft. I have auto-pilot on, alt and hdg selected as I normally have, but still no go. I Ctrl-Shift-M again, hear "Your Plane", do it again "My plane", but still nothing. Any idea why? thanks.
  6. Sorry for the late revival of this thread, but I've been googling for 2 days, looking for the same information as Brian. Although I wasn't familiar with MakeRwys (well, familiar enough to know it existed, but that's pretty much it), I downloaded it (v 4.678), copy it to my main FSX folder, and ran it. It created a bunch of files, however, I cannot locate Runways.xml in that folder. Am I missing something obvious? thanks Edit: I actually found something here... Updated daily. It has csv files of different information. I realize this might not include everything one has locally, but that's a heck of a good start I think. http://ourairports.com/data/ So by taking the airports file and the regions file (if you're familiar with excel) you can easily do a vlookup and merge the information into one larger file.
