  1. In all this topic what intrigues me is that "14+ hour flight". Wow, how exhausted it is to be on a real-life 14 hours flight. Now imagine sitting on a chair for 14 hours looking at a computer monitor of a flight simulation. Yikes ! Needs a lot of courage. (or other reasons) I find it comical when I read people go "Oh we finally have a long haul airliner for those long haul flights." Honestly, I have never flown my PMDG 777 more than 2 hours. In fact, I can take my Cessna add-on and fly it for 20 hours +- no difference!. Anyway, the point is the pointless reason of such looooong hours looking at a computer monitor- useless.
  2. Ok, so the smaller the number- the sharper (less blurred) the textures are. So, I gave it a try and I like the sharp textures with a smaller numbers. As FPS, it decreased a bit in very 'heavy' sceneries. All in all a smaller number works best for me.; locked frames at 30 and boom, best experience yet. (on FSX-DX-10)
  3. "Soon to be released" ? That would be nice. I feel they have taken really, really long.
  4. Ok, so longer than 14 hours? Like 15 hours , now? I'll test it so I can believe you. (I'm being sarcastic, of course) But, wow, I cannot imagine sitting on a computer (or having it on), for 14 hours straight. Geez
  5. I was wondering, if FSL is still in business ? I haven't heard form them in recent times. The only product I've heard from them is the Concorde. Their A320 has literally taken for so much, for years. Or maybe, their Airbus is a lot more complex than a Boeing to develop?
  6. Hey guys, Even after following this thread, I'm a bit confused and will ask just these questions to better understand this all... -- What is the point of decreasing the number on FTF? By lowering it, does it removes the blurriness and decrease FPS? -- Or, does it increase blurriness? -- Or, does it increase FPS and removes the blurred textures?
  7. Wow, for a common joe as myself (and 99% of us), trying to educate a master (or expert) in sim development products, as "meaningless" would be very, un-wise. Yes, we can all make mistakes, but I would trust Matjhis more than any other person on every sim forum there is.
  8. It's you computer. it's your paid software. All you're doing is placing it on a different "room." Will any of the software companies keep track of where the box is sitting? Not one... In fact, they could care less.. You already paid for it- It's yours. However, (here's where it matters), if you were building computers and using the exact same license for reselling and making business; then, I'm sure no developer will be happy. (just my $1.00) For Example: You've had a laptop with Windows XP or 7, and you decide you want to buy a better laptop, and you sell the current one to a friend (or anyone). Do you call Microsoft and ask for their permission? Nope!
  9. Some folks are just way too 'innocent' . They shoot themselves in the foot before they need to- in fact there's no need to. Yes, business is business; however, when you come out publicly and say things like : " Ohhhhh, no , there will be no discount" "Uhh, I'll be happy to pay as much as needed." What these things do is simply give the business owner an idea of what could be "acceptable" for many, and if there's enough of the same, then the business goes with it cause they feel, most people will agree. Look at what Aerosoft what did their Airbus? It's an outstanding product- at a reasonable price. And on top, they have included other products at no charge... Should I go back to Mathis and say: "Hey Mathis, you need to charge more for this; it's not worth $50.00. This should easily be $130.00" Then, I would be just too "innocent" There is no doubt PMDG is one of the top 4 sim developers in our sim world, and many will say that they will pay any price for it. However, there are others who don't think that way... This brings us to diversity. When waiting for a product- anything (car, house, food, clothes, FSX sim a/c etc.etc), the best thing we can do is listen, watch, and wait. Don't shoot yourselves in the foot... No need to. I am sure if the developer is wise (which I have no doubt PMDG is), he will charge a reasonable price for his product. That's it! Wait ! There you go!. If the customer wants it, and is willing to pay 'anything' for it... then give it to him. (or sell it to him) He'll be happy. At that price, you'd have enough to bring along all Avsim members for a swim in the beach. And, if you decide you want to save a bit, let the older guys we go on your private jet, and the younger guys go on a UPS 777.
  10. Good deal , Dave. I'm sure pilots will find this info very useful.
  11. Resolved: That did, Dave. I disabled KSEA in Vector and it's all back to normal. Goodness I spent several hours last night trying to fix it. Thank you both, guys. Yes sir- that fixed it.. Thank you.
  12. Hi Jordan, yes I do. I did a search for KSEA and it comes up with 7 different ones; they are all under the ORBX folder... - ORBX\FTX_Vector_V - ORBX\FTX\_NA\FTX_NA_P Hi Dave, Last night I did a complete install of PNW but that made no difference. Let me try to disable KSEA in the Vector config tool.
  13. Guys, I have an issue with KSEA. I recently reinstalled FSX on my system; however, KSEA has some horrific raised terrain on the taxiways and runways... This is the only airport with this problem. So, I was wondering if FSX comes with a default KSEA? Can someone please check their scenery library and see if there's a default KSEA on the list, pls? I currently have latest versions of ORBX PNW (and Global Base), and Vector. Everything else is fine except the very airport itself. Terrain is raised so high that the runways are buried. Not sure what's causing this.
  14. Thank you for your understanding, Vic I did not want to make the other guys upset. In fact, I was about to reinstall P3D tonight to make these guys happy. But with your words of wisdom, I won't. LoL But it's true, the idea is that we need to go with what's best for us. Honestly, I fell in love with P3D when I installed and tried, but as I began adding more and more stuff, it turned out, sadly, disappointing. I couldn't believe my eyes seeing an OOM every 2 minutes. And if I lower the settings too much to make it run, then the sim was just too vague. Now, I must say, this came with heavy airports and aircrafts... no AI. I'm hoping with the new system I'll complete next year, and other improvements, I'll manage it. One o f the biggest VAS usage I noticed was with HiRes mesh.. it added about 800Mb to VAS quickly. Anyway, I'm glad it's working well for you. Maybe a little hiccup leaving and entering Burbank, I guess? Hopefully it won't be too long that I'll be back to P3D.
  15. That's true Hey Vic, I agree. IT certainly is a better sim. The thing with my case is I enjoy the "heavy add-ons: and some are not compatible, and others cause almost sudden OOM. In the near future I should complete building my new system. Perhaps that would help; along with developers making more addons compatible with P3D. And also if P3D makes a 64bit version, that would be wonderful, as well. In the mean time, I'll be flying within FSX-DX10.
