Got to be careful with some lubricates as they can damage plastics, my father flys RC planes, I'll have to ask him he has anything that would work.

Ryan, excuse the off topic question but what on the Cessna yoke did you lubricate? Was it for the pitch? and what did you use? On topic, I would recommend FSUIPC, it's something I only now gave in and purchased as it also allows seperate control setups per aircraft, great for the A2A 172 and Majestic Dash 8 which both have they're own quirks.

Can you see Tom Cruise from up there? If you can, land and tell him he's as nuts as the rest of them. :rolleyes: Actually nevermind, I'm not sure you would be allowed to land there as your aircraft isn't covered in foil.

Still tearing, changed NI vsync to standard again, it worked, so no force vsync lines in cfg combined with Standard half refresh is the combination, thanks guys.

Fullscreen, same result in windowed too though, not that I'd want to run it that way.

I've tried nVidia inspector settings set to vsync standard and adaptive at half refresh, and I have the two force vsync lines in my fsx.cfg, I've tried limiting the FPS to 30 in both the inspector and or in FSX, nothing will stop the screen tearing. I notice that most of the time the FPS is 29. something not 30 which is probably the cause of this, but that is odd when if I unlock the fps it is well above that. Anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

OK, never mind on that one, seems using Fleshget to download it and using 7Zip to extract the install files instead of Chrome and Windows has sorted it, very odd.

Well great, REX wont install, comes up with a Copy resumed with different info error halfway through, anyone know how to fix this? :(

Thanks Oliver, as stated in my previous post a lot of people like the Active Sky Next weather engine, but I've also heard a lot of good things about the Opus engine, which would people suggest, I'm just about to pull the trigger on one and REX Texture Direct. Thanks.

Hey thanks woodhick, I'm afraid I'm still a little confused about FTX, say if I buy one of the uk regions, is it any different in that region of the world to what is included in the global pack or are they just cutting up sections to people who don't want to spend so much? I've seen a few people using ASN with REX4 so that seems to be the good combo to go with, thanks. As for the King Air, yeah just saw that on Frooglesim on youtube last night, that's another to add to the list. :-)

So nothing else can people suggest? A couple of questions while I wait. :biggrin: If I buy FTX Global (is it REALLY worth it?) would there be any point in buying the individual regions like Wales, England Scotland etc, or are they included? Well I've just bit the bullet on my first yoke, the as mentioned Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Yoke, Pro Flight Cessna rudder pedals, Pro Flight Cessna trim wheel, and Pro Flight switch panel. Now I'm all set for hardware, please keep the addon suggestions coming. Thanks.

So, can I ask again for peoples help with the best addons available today for FSX, and what not to expensive yoke is good, and if the Saitek/Madcatz Pro Flight Yoke is good and reliable. Thanks.

How about hardware, I'm still running a cheap joystick and throttle combo, aka the Thrustmaster HOTAS X, but would like a yoke, looking at the Saitek/Madcatz Pro Flight Cessna Yoke, a couple of people with sticky pitch but most seem happy with it in the reviews, what's the opinion here?

Well to be honest I'm not all that happy with the VFR Real scenery, I'm certainly tempted by the FTX of all of Britain, though a little conflicted with it not being real imagery but it still looks good. No offence but I'm not that interested in X-Plane. I wish FSX ran smooth, that's never been the case, MS really should have rewritten it before giving up.

Hey folks, well I'm back into FS after about 6 years out, and was looking at becoming largely in debt so what better digital hobby :-), so anyyyyway I was wondering if anyone could be so kind as to update me on all the cool addons I've missed while I was away. Suggestions on the very best in any type of addon would be welcome, be it aircraft, scenery, utility, texture program, etc, anything that's a great addition to FSX, I've spotted some after a few days of looking around, all the FTX ground and airport scenery looks mighty tempting and the PDMG 737 NGX, EZDok/EZCA, REX4. I'm very interested in some bush flying, detailed airfields with nice and interesting approaches (Some of the FTX airfields look especially good for this), would especially like a number of those that would make good flights in say the Twin Otter or appropriate aircraft type, but as I said any addon type suggestion is very welcome.
