FSX says hi... ☺️ Seriously my potato is well below the minimum spec to run what looks to be a bit of a car crash. And for the price they are asking even for Standard Edition, paying customers deserve far better.

Turned out there was a rogue multi core line in the Steam launcher parameters which I don’t remember putting there. Deleted that to blank and FSX now launches and runs okay, well as much as it does on modern hardware and Windows 10!

Went to run FSX after a fairly long absence and presented with this message when trying to run the game: https://ibb.co/jybnTs4] Not physically changed anything with the install since last running the game, other than any official Steam updates. I initally verified file integrity through Steam, no change then did a complete uninstall (including deletion of all subsidiary folders) followed by reinstall but getting the same result. Any guidance on fixing this greatly appreciated.

Just wondered if there is any difference between the two versions? I have the old boxed edition bought years ago for the original (disc) FSX but now run the Steam edition of FSX. Did the Steam edition get any significant updates to justify paying the @£21 asking price or should I just try and get the original working?

Wow. Ran like one of those personality tests you do at a job interview. I managed to sort the boxes out but IMHO these should have been broken down into specific categories, rather than lumped into 50 or so. Many such as SDK or online participation were of no interest to me, likewise the earlier section - should have been possible to simply leave out those not applicable. For example, I want the FS Passengers type functionality and/or career mode but not at the expense of decent graphics, flight model/fuel consumption and a planner! So it ended up around No. 20 in the list after starting around No. 5 after gradually filling the space above with, "Can't do without that" features. Many of the items being called on to rank should go without saying in a new designed from the floor up sim, shouldn't even be necessary to poll them.
