What aircraft are you flying? If you are visual with the runway then it's your flying skills If you are flying IMC then usually the Flight Director crosshairs would be shown on the PFD. These would align with the G/S and localiser.

Hi all, Please see an example here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX3-VPwc_Fg I am not sure how the simmer made this exactly but I have a question. There are some clips in the link above where the camera is looking out over the nose from inside the cockpit. Does anyone know of software which would allow a user to record this view during a flight but what the user actually sees is the normal VC view. It would make for some great day in the life of a simmer videos. Regards, Dom

Disk space problem imminent. Looking for solutions
Domobaby replied to Domobaby's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Thank you guys that is reassuring. I will transfer some bits over to my HDD -
Hi all, Quick question. My SSD (P3D + OS) is near capacity. If I was to use Junction Link Magic to move some of my addon scenery to my HDD (E Drive) what impact would this have on the sim directly? Would it only be the initial load times that are slowed? Actual real time sim play (FPS/textures) would be ok. I was planning to try this with ORBX Regards, Dom

Thanks overspeed That fills me with hope. I will look at tutorials. Do you have to do things a particular way to avoid registry problems with payware bits?...I assume you rename the new drive to reflect the old C: drive. Just to bump my other question...As you say the SSD is quicker but what kind of negative impact would this translate to in P3D? IN SHORT: If I put ORBX onto my HDD using Junction Link Magic. Is it merely the P3D load times and not FPS/real time texture loading that is going to slow down... -
VATSIM/IVAO?

Hi all, I only have one SSD on my setup which contains both P3D and my OS. It is starting to get very full (<10GB free). I do have a HDD with lots and lots of space. Going forward is it possible for me to install scenery onto the HDD? Will this slow down anything significant in the sim? Which files would I need to alter? Thanks for the help. Dom

QualityWings – 757 P3D v3 Installer Released.
Domobaby replied to JLuis's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
The FMC is ok for me because I use it undocked on a second monitor. No problems then I downloaded some new sounds as well. I am happy to put up with using this as the number of long haul aircraft (if you can call it that) on offer for P3D is woeful -

Very impressive. Must rely heavily on everyone's internet connections being tip top?

Ok so this is not a problem just with P3D. It has plagued flight sims for a while. Clouds are too bright at night. If I set my brightness right down to make the clouds more realistic then the rest of the sim objects are way too dark. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Right I have done my best to try and understand all this. But it's 15 pages of I do this I do that. I am running 4790k (& GTX970) and I think my AM (1 and 4 maybe?) has been set historically from one of Rob A's optimisation guides. Does anyone here have a better setting I could use please? Many Thanks, Dom

Hi all, I do mainly commerical flights. Short/long for a virtual airline. I went all out and installed FTX Global/Global vector and European Region. Flew LGAV-EHAM got an OOM as EHAM loaded up. I am in the process of removing all ORBX (so confusing trying to do that) and plan to stick with just FTX Global for now. What methods have you adopted? I use PMDG/ASN/REX. Cheers, Dominic Nortney
