  1. Other than the sound issue, and rebooting the machine after you exit FSX SE... does the A/C fly normally without any issues? I am hoping someone can maybe reverse engineer the gauge.dll file and maybe fix it... Thanks
  2. Unfortunately, Flight 1 does not employ developers so I thought I would pose the question to the Avsim gurus. I was under the same impression but I ran across this post on the Steam site: https://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/discussions/2/530646080866002348/ Maybe folks have come up with some work around. I am hoping! Thanks
  3. I have successfully installed the Flight 1 ATR in the FSX SE environment. There is a little delay when loading, and sometimes the sound cuts out or gets a little choppy for a brief moment, but other than that it works EXCEPT when you end the flight or try to exit FSX SE Alt F4. It seems to hang FSX SE at that point. The sound will get choppy and then FSX SE goes out to never-never land. Anyone have any ideas on a fix to this? I know this A/C isn't supposed to be compatible, but it does seem to work except for this issue Thanks!
  4. Hi Steve, Finally figured it out. Active Sky Next wants you to remove Shader files in ShadersHLSL\misc I backed them up. As soon as I did that I had the problem. So what I did is deleted those files ASN was happy, Then I copied or restored them back to hadersHLSL\misc, and then FSX SE was happy. When I launched ASN the next time, it did not prompt me and everything is now working as expected. The weather modeling in ASN is fantastic! Thanks again for your help!
  5. Steve, All set it works.. Now I have a really weird problem. Activating the ATC menu, and using the Alt key to display the FSX SE menus isn't working now. Not sure what is wrong...I can do a Alt F4 to exist FSX SE, again the Alt Key doesn't display the FSX SE menus. May have to post this on the general forum...
  6. All installed in both machines. One suggestion was run the AI Traffic App to see if the simconnect is working properly.. Hey Steve, We have success! See below...Now I just have to load ASN? Sorry Steve, Not sure how to attach a graphic.. It did connect.
  7. So the client will have all 4 simconnect versions installed on it as welll? Thanks!
  8. Hi Steve... Thanks for your post, great information. I have two completely backed up refreshed machines. On the client and server machines which versions of SimConnect need to be installed. I believe on the server by default of the install of FSXSE, 10.0.61259.0 and 10.0.62615.0 are now installed on the server. Do BOTH of these packages need to be installed on the client? Also, should I disable the firewall on both machines? That way there is no port restrictions. This is a private local network behind a router firewall. Thanks!
  9. Unfortunately, it is not connecting. ASN doesn't detect any configuration issues with, however it is stuck on Waiting for Simulator. Going to follow the ASN instructions now. Thanks everyone for your help. It still seems there is some confusion on my part. But thanks to the replies, I have a little bit better understanding.
  10. Normally I would agree with your theory. However, even though uninstalling 10.0.62615.0 and all of the others, and installing 10.0.61259.0 only, in the SimConnect log file it still indicates 10.0.62615.0. That 10.0.62615.0 version of simconnect.dll still exists in the FSX folder thus it is loading as the version of simconnect. Any other ideas? Thanks!
  11. For Active Sky Next Networked Configuration I need to be running 10.0.61259.0 on my FSXSE server, and also on the ASN client. I uninstalled all Legacy SimConnects via Windows 10 control panel. I have reinstalled 10.0.61259.0 on the server and client machines. However the 10.0.61259.0 didn't overwrite the simconnect.dll in the FSXSE FSX folder. It is still the latest FSX SE version 10.0.62615.0 which according to ASN support is NOT compatible. My question is when I ran the Simconnect.msi for FSX-XPACK, where the heck does in install the simconnect.dll? It doesn't overwrite the one in the FSX folder. I need to locate it so I can manually copy it to the FSX folder. I tried search my hard drive but the versions it found were not 10.0.61259.0... This is the only Add-On that I have literally spent hours and hours trying to configure it.
  12. I was able to get the MU2 to track the Localizer, but not the Glide Slope. I must be missing something? I checked the manual, but nothing stood out. I was doing an approach into KMDT RWY 13. Again I was able to track the Localizer but didn't see any Glide Slope. Thanks!
  13. I looked at the manual GPS and A/C. I set the NAV on the Auto Pilot to NAV (Arm). On the Garmin GPS panel, I selected GPS but the NAV on the AP did not swith to ARM. How do I get teh AP to track the GPS? Thanks!
  14. Has anyone experienced strange behavior with the AP not tracking GPS or ALT properly? Enabled GPS and NAV on the AP, and it started a turn in the opposite direction as GPS path. Is there some bugs with the A/C autopilot? Thanks!
  15. Thanks Everyone! I haven't heard too much about DTG Flight Simulator. I'll have to do some research on that one. Unless it virtually blows FSX away, I think FSX will be around awhile. The MU2 is the first plane I have actually been forced to use the Virtual Cockpit. I wish I had a Track IR.You do take a FPS hit as opposed to the 2D panel. It is kind of awkward scrolling away from the outside window to interface with the A/C panel. It seems to me they should have put the AP VS pitch wheel near or on the AP unit itself, I am still not completely sure how to set the VS to a specific FPM setting. All other AC that I have flown, you set the actually FPM, although in the Flight 1 ATR I have to make some adjustments because it does default to the current VS of the A/C. I haven't played with it too much yet. I assume it works the same way. In some A/C you set the VS FPM and Altitude, when you engage the ALT it sets the target altitude and climbs or decends at that FPM, Speaking of technology, this is pretty cool, but expensive. because it tracks where your hands are. Check it out... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp4-mLuV6lA
  16. barrel_owl, Awesome, Thank you so much! Not sure whether to drop 34.95 on a camera utility,,,, Have to give it some thought.
  17. I set the Altitude and the VS (I am currently climbing at 1000 FPM). The manual makes reference to a pitch wheel or something like that. I can't seem to get the MU2 VS hold set correctly. Can somebody give me the proper procedure to set the Altitude (I have dialed the set altitude) and Vertical Speed? Heading and NAV / GPS seem to work fine. Most other A/C you set the FPM + for climb and - for decent. IE +500 -500 From the manual: ALT/SEL: Captures and holds selected altitudes. The mode requires pressing VS or IAS to be active. < VS has to be set??> VS: Requires setting a target altitude using the ALT knob on the ALT SEL unit. Use the AP unit pitch wheel for best pitch angle. <<Where is this?>> Thanks!
  18. After I start the MU2B-60, I am using a CH Products yoke and the throttle and prop feather control start to flutter badly when I go to apply the throttle and the A/C throttle controls snap back to idle. There must be something in the configuration, or I am not doing something correctly.. I don't have this problem with any other FSX A/C.. Also in the Engine Start Training video, the trainer mentioned a POH being available (hopefully with the entire A/C standardized checklist.) If anyone can provide the link, that would be great. Thanks!
  19. If I am using the FMC for navigation and for example for the ILS approach, FSX ATC wants to give me vectors... I assume I disable the FMC and follow the vectors? If that is the case, how do you follow a STAR for arrival, if FSX ATC wants to vector you? What happens in the real world as opposed to FSX? Is the STAR generally followed? The same for SID? I just ignored FSX ATC and I got squawked to expedite at until I resumed the course navigation. Just curious how sim pilots handle this issue. Thanks!
  20. Kenz, This worked perfectly! It even changed the Runway from 25 to 26 at PADQ! I assume PANC will be the same. Does a new ILS / Regional update come out every time there is a Airac update / change? Thanks again!
  21. I have a question regarding Airports... For example, PADQ and PANC, runway magnetic headings have changed. Ie PADQ RWY 25 is now RWY 26. Is there anyway to change these in FSX? PANC in FSX it is RWY 6, but now it is RWY 7. It seems like PADQ RWY 26 should be closed to departing traffic. Use RWY 29 instead? Is there a way this can be configured in the FSX airport configuration? This also seems to impact FMS / Airac consistently, since the Airac updates have the latest and greatest airport data. Has anybody flown out of PADQ real world? I know as a pilot I would probably be reluctant to depart on runway 26 , with a hill / mountain starring me in the face. Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the replies. Just wondering if anyone has actually loaded a SimBrief Flight Plan to the Flight One ATR FMC? Just wondering if the FSX Flight Plan file was complete enough. Thanks!
  23. I fly the Flight 1 ATR-7200 and I am looking for Flight Planning software that will be able to export to the Flight 1 ATR FMC If you import the standard FSX generated flight plan, you still have to manually update the FMC.. PFPX seems to be the Cadillac of the Flight Planning software choices. It may be overkill and also a little too complicated, at least initially.... Although I would like to strive to be as realistic as possible. Any ideas? Thanks!
  24. I have tried to install the Flight 1 ATR under Windows 10 and it didn't work. Another user also had the same problem, and made the comment regarding the DRM. So has anyone been able to install and sucessfully test and fly the Flight 1 ATR under Windows 10? Did the FSX installation have be in a folder other than the typical Default? As some have indicated that that Windows 10 tighter security with the C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(86) folders. Not sure. Probably agree that MS won't force you to update, you never can tell... They are trying to compete with Google (Andriod) for data collection. But I read MS is adding additional monitoring to Windows 7 and 8. Look forward to hearing from a Flight 1 ATR owner that has sucessfully installed and tested the A/C under Windows 10! Thanks for the reply.
