  1. Some A/C like the Flight 1 ATR will not run under Windows 10 (as well as a pretty significant number of games) which some have suggested is due to DRM (Digital Rights Management). The issue does not exist under Windows 7. These are due to old authentication methods, licensing, etc, that don't seem to be compatible and are causing problems under Windows 10. I am not certain if there is a decline in FSX third party add-on sales, but Flight 1 doesn't seem to be moving forward with fixing or correcting the issue, I am running FSX under Windows 7, but it is just a matter of time before Microsoft is going to force the upgrade to Windows 10 (very soon). I am sure many in the Flight Sim community have experienced the Windows 10 "Nag". All they have to do is start basically deactivating current license keys and resetting it back to a 30 day grace period, and you will have to upgrade. Personally, I like Windows 10 , but I am not sure why there are SO many DRM issues. Am I missing something? Thanks!
  2. I finally was able to get the FMC in the Flight 1 ATR to actualy track the flight plan. One other question is as I import a flight plan, the first waypoint is the airpoint runway. So when I activate the flight plan via the FMC, after departing from the runway when control is transfered to the FMC, it starts to track back to the runway coordinates. How do I deal with this issue? Do I need to remove the runway from the RTE? Or do I activate the flight plan prior to taxi and taking off via the runway. Is this an issue with importing the flight plan? I have seen tutorials via YouTube and the examples in the video indicate that the runway is specified, but it appears that it not part of the first leg. Just needing some refresher training here. Thanks in advance for your help!
  3. Thanks for the reply. Just wondering if any actual Flight 1 ATR users can shed some light on specifically how to do it. Thanks
  4. Refresher Training here.... I have posted this on the Flight 1 ATR forum as well. But it doesn't look like it gets too much traffic these days, so I thought I would post the question here.... So I have programmed and activated the FMC. But how do I engage the FMC so the aircraft starts to follow the programmed flight plan in the FMC? I have tried engaging the NAV but not sure what the actual steps are, and the manual does a good job describing the programming of the flight plan, but I didn't see when you activate it what you have to do as far as the autopilot to engage the FMC. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the response.. I have cleaned it and I still get the same result. Any others have any ideas? Thanks!
  6. I purchased a copy of a never activated FSX Gold Edition and I am getting the following error . I was wondering if the FSX Disk#2 is bad and need to ask for a refund. It is basically an error 1305 reading 035b2wi7.bmp. I have tried the install turning off the antivirus and installing as well, etc. The vendor gave me this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/258496 It says in the article to contact Microsoft for a replacement. Since FSX has been discontinued, I feel I should just ask for a refund. Has anybody had the same error? I have tried it on different machines, I even converted it to an ISO and burned a new DVD from it and I still get the same error. It gets about 80% or more through the file copy during the istall and then opens an error dialog with the 1305 error. Any help would be appreciated!
  7. Just installed the Flight 1 ATR 72 under FSX Deluxe SP2 Windows 10. After I installed it and selected the ATR 72 as an aircraft, it hangs. It did ask me to load the DLLs, etc and I answered Yes and it hung loading the aircraft. All other FSX A/C load fine.. With the phase out of FSX, not sure whether Flight 1 will offer support. Thanks for any help provided...
  8. Windows 10 FSX Delux SP2 SimConnect version 10.0.61259.0 I have setup my SimConnect configurations (.xml, .cfg) according to the ASN documentation. The client is connected to the shared FSX locations on the server properly. When I look at the SimConnect Log it shows two IPv4 connections. Am I missing something? In the SimConnect XML file I reduced it to just the IPv4 local Settings. 0.00000 SimConnect version 10.0.61259.0 0.00692 Server: Scope=local, Protocol=IPv4, Address=10.0.0.14, Port=500, MaxClients=64 0.01194 Server: Scope=local, Protocol=Pipe, Name=\\.\pipe\Microsoft Flight Simulator\SimConnect, MaxClients=64 0.01610 Server: Scope=local, Protocol=IPv6, Address=::1, Port=54162, MaxClients=64 0.01945 Server: Scope=local, Protocol=IPv4, Address=127.0.0.1, Port=54163, MaxClients=64 0.00692 settings are how I have the client computer configured. I can ping the server, etc SimConnect XML <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"> <Descr>SimConnect Server Configuration</Descr> <Filename>SimConnect.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <!-- Example Local(remote) IPv4 Server Configuration--> <SimConnect.Comm> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Protocol>IPv4</Protocol> <Scope>local</Scope> <MaxClients>64</MaxClients> <Address>10.0.0.14</Address> <Port>500</Port> </SimConnect.Comm> </SimBase.Document> ASN just sits at Waiting for Simulator status. Interesting as I am using the SimConnect console = yes option. When I shut down FSX, the console window stays open until I shut down ASN on the client computer. Then it closes. Any Ideas? Thanks!
  9. I did a fresh install of FSX on Windows 10. I installed SP1 and SP2. I am using a AMD Radion HD 8610G Graphics card. I have to enable DX 10 Preview in the FSX settings otherwise I just get black screens when I try to modify the display as well as other settings. The DX 10 Preview will display the display settings dialogs correctly, but it is causing some flutters and strange flashes of colored triangles. Is there any alternative such as installing DX 9.0c? Anybody else have issues with AMD graphics cards and the black screens as I don't think enabling DX 10 Preview is stable? Thanks!
  10. Active Sky Next support indicates to remove the SimConnect.cfg from the ASN folder where the ASN Executable exists and make sure it DOESN'T. I think the issue is with Windows 8.1 Pro. Finally, make sure you create specific exclusion rules for the SimConnect port (500), ASN radar port (19284) in your firewall. I am not certain I have to open up these ports in my router?? I would think not. Both windows firewalls are turned off! I think another issue I am having is maybe the FSX SE simconnect.dll is a different version than the Client computer with ASN. I am not sure if I can just replace the SimConnect.dll with the same version as the SimConnect.dll on the Client computer. Thanks!
  11. I am trying to get ActiveSky Next working with FSX Steam Edition. (SE) I think I have the correct version installed on the Client. However I am using Windows 8.1 Pro. The SimConnect and ASN documentation refers to copying the SimConnect.cfg file (once configured with IP address etc) to the MyDocuments folder, however Windows 8.1 Pro uses a Documents folder to where I copied it. ASN has passed all of the tests in terms of mapping to the FSX and Flight Simulator X Files folders. Currently when I lauch FSX on the server, and ASN on the client, ASN sits there and says waiting to connect. I may need to enalble logging. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
