  1. You misunderstand me, as I am not complaining about the realistic part ( I want it as realistic as possible). What I am doing is asking a question. To be more clear then, I rephrase the question, as I confess the question was too deep for people to understand. Is the pitch reverse handle physical locked in the real airplane when throttle position is on the positive side? Anyway, still the problem exist that your airplane does not detect a zero throttle position, making it impossible to control the pitch reverse handle. The threshold for approving to move the handle is too strict. PC joystick imperfection must be taken in to account.
  2. That is an unnecessary and awkward solution. Actually, when I think about it. Why implement a check for throttle axis value, when you still need to flip the pitch reverse lever? It feels like belt and suspenders. Not necessary in this case.
  3. Sorry for late reply, I've been busy flying the DC6 and the Tu154, I cannot get enough learning all the aircraft. I have not found any way to set any nullzone for throttle in X-Plane. It seems this is possible only for yaw, pitch and roll and it is mainly to create a nullzone in this center point of axis. In this case, there are no nullzones definable for endpoints of axes, and I do not recall any software offer settings for endpoint nullzones. It seems everytime I want to fly the DC6, I need to recalibrate the throttle axis. I've never had this problem with any aircraft before. It is not fun being unsure if pitch reverse will work when landing on a short runway (though it is exciting ). So I still stand my point, throttle axis endpoint bufferzone for allowing pitch reverse should be increased. :p0304:
  4. It is freaking awesome, yes. The yearn to fly this one is currently greater than other aircrafts I have, and basically I have all the best of the X-Plane aircraft. I'm looking forward to fly it online, but first step is to master it enough.
  5. Actually, it happened again. I needed to recalibrate again. I think it would be nice to set a little higher threshold to allow for prop reverse (just to filter out some axis difference). Thanks!
  6. As stated in post above (the last lines).
  7. No problem, everyone of us are different humans with different qualities and needs. Anyway, I'm using the Thrustmaster Warthog setup and Saitek Rudder Pedals. Also I'm using TrackIR. The throttle base do have 3 axis, where each axis is assigned to: * Throttle (which moves all the virtual throttles) * Prop * Carb heat The joystick has, of course, two axis and is assigned to: * Pitch * Roll The rudder pedal has three axis assigned to: * Yaw * Left toe brake * Right toe brake I do not have any axis mapped to multiple functions, X-Plane is only able to map one axis to one function, though maybe I do not know better? Correct me then if I'm wrong. I'll continue to try to solve the problem. At the bottom I'm running the Thrustmaster TARGET GUI. But I cannot imagine that would be the problem, as it only provides raw data to X-Plane, but I'll continue test and trial. Thanks for your support Kyle. UPDATE Anyway, as a required law. After a minimum amount of written words and time used by troublesolving, you find the culprit. As always.... I did recalibrate the input axes in X-Plane, and now I'm able to maneuver the prop reverse handle.
  8. No I refuse! Kidding here, I read through relative fast, but there is no information on maneuvering the prop reversers. Most of the tutorials is only about navigating and handling the autopilot, which I master well.
  9. Thanks for both of your answers. Though I'm still unable to move the reverse handle. Even at throttle IDLE settings. I've been trying to click and drag, also pressing the prop-reverse button assigned on my joystick. So either it is a bug or I'm doing something wrong. Kyle, I meant to be sarcastic. I do not hate (I guess I chose the wrong word, and mistakenly being taken too serious), and AFE is helpful of course. But I'm a person who just want to play for himself, I do not like learning by watching, I want to learn by doing, or be told what to do. AFE does not help at all in learning things (maybe a small fragment), as you only get audible hints of what he is doing. He is not instructor, just a work reliefer.
  10. I skipped the tutorials, as I personally hate the AFE (I don't trust him :Talk to the Hand: ), and after some test and trial without reading any manual I did successfully start up the engines. I did one mistake with the first engine, overheating the carburetor air. But I learned to handle the carb levers and get temperatures between yellow and red marking, slowly increase the levers while in flight. Also I learned to adjust the cowls to get optimal cylinder temperature (if I'm right it is 200 C). I did two flights with great success, not damaging any engines. Yet a great aircraft indeed. Though I have some questions. 1. How do you reverse the propeller pitch? The red handle above the propeller panel (in the center panel between throttle levers) is not possible to move. Tried click on it but nothing happens. After that, I did try setup a joystick button to propeller reverse toggle without any success. 2. When to set autorich and lean positions on the mixtures levers? Is it decided by start, taxi, takeoff, climb and so on. Or is it more complicated depending on airtemperature, enginetemperature, throttle position? 3. Can you affect motor oil temperature also, or is it only cylinder temp and carburetor temp important to monitor and adjust for? I've some more questions, i.e. fuel management, but I take them for later. The above is the most important right now for me to understand. Thank you PMDG for a great aircraft.
  11. To clarify what the differences are. SkyMaxx Pro replaces XP:s cloud system completely, rendering its own clouds. UWXP is another addon which only replaces XP:s cloud textures and shaders, also as a bonus it replaces skycolors and watertextures to your liking. I've not used HDClouds, but I guess it is using the same procedure as UWXP. I currently have tested Skymaxx Pro and UWXP, right now I prefer UWXP.
  12. Funny, I recently bought the A320Neo from Jardesign, and I had hard a time choosing which of those to buy. This version have a soundpack made by thirdparty which is really nice. Though the FMC is little awkard, and I cannot compare the other products or the real FMC, i.e. speed is not shown in waypoint list (you have to go in the waypoint menu). Also captains and copilots system is not independent. But otherwise I really like the aircraft. The flaw with X-Plane I guess, it yet does not have aircraft in the quality as FSX, that is what I have heard of, but that will hopefully change when PMDG, IXEG and Parsec will release their specific aircraft (737, DC6, MD80). Also hopefully the free x737 project will be good. Currently I really like the Saab 340A made by Leading Edge Simulations. About the ATC, it is worthless. Helicharly:s plugin exist in alpha, but is not fully implemented and may crash. I prefer to fly online on IVAO anyway, so that is no problem for me. http://124thatc.matacchieri.eu Edit: Change of link
  13. I do not demand anything, please read my second post, I do respect the developers and I am sad that you think I am rude, please refrain and PM me if you still think I am. I'm just trying to discuss, as what the forums are for, misunderstandings are easy to happen. Thanks for answering, and your business implications I respect, even if I do not understand them. But that is another discussion, and I am really looking forward for your great aircraft, and I'm sorry I have misunderstand the naming. Edit: Seems I cannot set my signature before 31 March in my profile settings.
  14. So, name added (why?). Anyway, adding waypoints manually for approaches is very awkard and I think this is not realistic. If you read through my post, you should see that the complex avionics and display is already implemented in the plugin. Only thing to add is a 3D represention of the unit, and datarefs to the knobs. I highly respect your decision on what to add or do with your addon, I just want to state that I think the KLN90B is a better choice than GNS430, as it is more feature complete. The only flaw here is if the dev of plugin accepts to interface his plugin into this aircraft (but it is highly probable as it has been done in the AN24).
  15. This aircraft addon looks really nice and I will buy it at release. Though I'm disappointed that the GNS430 is included ( if it is the integrated X-Plane version), as it is not well featured. A better way would be to implement the KLN90B, which supports SIDS/STARS (http://www.eadt.eu/index.php?kln90b). It supports datarefs and can be implemented as 3D, as it is done with Felis AN24 aircraft. Ask for permission and DO IT!!! This will make it possible to fly SIDS/STARS online. EDIT: Johannes Bergmark

  17. Downloading W2XP updates buildings and roads for the whole world, though it may slow down your computer, read instructions very carefully, as some other packages may be required: http://simheaven.com/?page_id=3260 Also, you can download hires photosceneries from there, which requires much HDD space and probaly a videocard with much VRAM. Also you can download detailed terrain, from HD to UHD: http://www.alpilotx.net Note that X-Plane may be more complicated and picky when installing sceneries, read this FAQ at simheaven: http://simheaven.com/?page_id=338 And many handcrafted airport sceneries may require additional packages, and if dependecies is not met X-plane will crash, so check this closely and try load up the airport newly installed before flying. About my experiences with the weather addons. Skymaxx Pro replaces the X-Plane weather rendering system and does render very beatiful clouds, but in my case this plugin has caused random crashes sometimes, and also the clouds are only shown locally around your airplane, and several seconds long hiccups when updating new weather data while flying. I got tired of this so I uninstalled this plugin. Ultra Weather XP replaces the X-Plane cloud shaders and textures, also it replaces the textures for water and sky colors. Installer is not great, but the clouds looks great and I am very satisfied with this product, personally I recommend this over Skymaxx at this time. FSGRW, which updates weather data, is great. The only flaw here is it does not support/inject turbulence in air, which turns me off. NOAA weather plugin does a great work as a free weather injector. But the updates of weather is not as smooth as with FSGRW. I would recommed FSGRW over NOAA if you do not care about turbulence. Note I've not tested other weather injectors, and there may be better ones than these two.
