  1. Well, i'm a little embarrassed that I even had to ask in that Last Post; it was pretty obvious all one needed to do was hold down the F2 key. So I did that and now she's behaving like a Princess. All I've done so far is taxi around but it just has a different feel. Once again thanks very much you guys for your help.
  2. Guys thank you very much for your responses. Randall I am focusing on the reverse axis issue. I had a look at the keyboard bindings and the mouse bindings Only to discover that there are no inputs called for; everything is blank. At first I thought that was fine but now I am really focusing on the aircraft's behavior and how it does this going into reverse thing. Can you give me any guidance as to what the correct keyboard bindings should be? I use classically the old FSX keyboard actions of; first hit flight idle, F1, and then holding down the F2 key. I'm not sure how to express that or whether I should use propeller or throttle management, or both. Those inputs must have been there, but right now there is nothing. I should point out I do a joystick as such; my right arm doesn't work properly and I can't lift it up to operate one so I use Vjoy and virtual controller in conjunction with the mouse. You may remember I was telling it “secondary click” to throttle over to the left side. It isn't elegant but typically it does work. Again, thanks very much for your responses fellas. Tres
  3. Thanks fellas. It's just typical of the confusion that has been my experience of 2024 so far. It is very stable but the incredibly complicated key bindings world is just making my head hurt. It doesn't look any better than 2020 to me and I'm still groping for why anybody would. think it's better. I think part of the confusion I got into was over beta versions and I have never been concerned about that, it's enough of a headache as it is LOL! But I have it now and, PITA that it is I'm going to keep plugging away. but so far I'm having a lot more fun with 2020. And yes, I do have the up to date version; 1.6.34.0.
  4. And here I spent nearly a half hour proofreading the body of the thing! Typical that I didn't even notice the title! Thanks for the Fix!
  5. I am completely Baffled by SIM update in FS2024. in FS 2020, you would simply Receive “mandatory updates” and they would install right in. No problem. I have had now, FS2024 since last August and, frankly I have found it to be an annoying pain in the word not allowed every step of the way. The scuttlebutt seems to be that it really started to behave like a lady when SIM update 3 came out so recently I have decided that I should keep up with the Jones's and get it. Not so simple. I have done searches and inquiries and have been buried in reams and reams of “release notes” But is there such a thing as a link? Not that I've found. I believe that there are now 5 SIM updates out. I'm feeling a little simple minded right now as I've been doing this (simming that is) since FS4 but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get them. I have done the Base Content download; I have well over 150 gigabytes on board I believe. I fly on FS2020 every day. I have what I consider a very nice establishment there several airplanes and I'm flying all over the world. I'm very happy with 2020 and I keep asking myself why on earth am I even messing with 2024? Tres
  6. The above videos have been reset to “public and should now be viewable. Sorry for the inconvenience!
  7. This may explain it better. https://youtu.be/i7C43ntzC9k
  8. I guess they don't go for videos here. I made a video showing what is going on in the settings controls areas of both 2024 and back in how it looks in 2020. I go to Settings controls and then hardware settings, it shows slanted line just like it does in 2020 and when I hit the X key, which I can do for either the X axis or the Y axis, It slides right along with the mouse. From there I went into the cockpit of the Cessna 172 and saw that the control yoke is moving but very jerkily. I remembered that I had been in settings controls for the mouse and went back there and deleted several inputs I had previously put in. When I went back into the airplane cockpit, the yoke was totally unmoving. so that's basically where I am. I have No doubt at this point that the program is recognizing Vijoy but I have some kind of setting slash bindings slash controls issue. I wish I could show you that video.
  9. Moderators, I only noticed the post about the hardware section after I posted this. Thinking about it, I feel that it is a little broader than just a hardware topic but it's your forum and if you want to put it somewhere else, or just delete it, I understand. Tres So, a few days ago, I pulled the trigger as I had threatened to and acquired MSFS 2024. Now about a week later, after many hours of very frustrating effort trying to figure out how to get the mouse to work as a joystick, as I have done with MSFS 2020 very successfully, I am starting to fear that I may have to back out of the whole thing and get a refund, which I do not wish to do . The program recognizes the presence of my Vjoy Driver device, but nothing I have been able to think of will make it actually make the control yoke move. I have looked at several forum posts including in the MSFS 2024 forum and it's a little unclear frankly but some of the conversation is leading me to believe that perhaps MSFS 2024 just will not support the virtual essentials/vjoy setup which has worked very well for me in MSFS 2020. Now this is an obscure topic I know, And not likely to be very interesting to very many people; I would not recommend anyone to use their mouse as a joystick if you didn't have to. I DO have to because my right hand and arm do not work properly and I cannot operate a joystick. I can slide a mouse around on a table surface and I can fly in this way very well. So I guess the question is, and I doubt that anyone really knows, Is there any hope here? This has been a very frustrating and tiring experience but I hate like hell to just have to drop out of the 2024 world over a stupid thing like this Any thoughts at all most appreciated. Tres
