Hello I plane a flight using the defualt flight planner, tick the IFR box try end routing say VOR to VOR, check the mapped route visually all there. Plan it on FSC all there..plan it on aFSC all their, But FSX will not let me fly any route, all it wants to do is give me radar vectors to the landing runway. is this all FSX will do, it never asked passing or eta at Nav point it is pretty crude RT but I don’t mind, just won’t it to be one step ahead of my planed route, if I want vectors I With ask for them. The plan is filed Fly comersual twins DH 290ft, do I need Need an add on . Trubshaw

Hello. I construct my flight plan in FS Commander IFR plan on my second computer then open FSX Flight Panner look up file and load it into FSX, it has the Radar dot in the circle for IFR, Flight conditions are full IMC if I request taxy without the Flight Plan loade I get taxi denied aerorome is IFR only, with the plan loaded I get clearance to taxy., To take off, all my request are cleared, once airborne it’s radar headings, ignoring my flight plan route. I don’t really want to talk to ATC I prefer just using the Go Flight ATC module and select a number. I find most addones quite complex in all the extra choices give in a programs, just want simple RT. It’s a bit like instrument reflections in the windscreen it’s just a neuisance Fsx just manages to keep its head above the water line, I just want a fully working aeroplane. We have Vox, Radar Contact, Professional X, All I want is one that will simply follow my flight plan. What do you recommend. Trubshaw

Hi. Raid , and Radar card are usless in FSX, not designed to benefit from Raid Arrays, I have both, no speed increase in FSX. Trubshaw.

Hi All Radar Contact is now Free Ware ,program and key can be downloaded. What is Radar Contact is it a addon ATC services for FSX, My problem is, I load a route say from FS Commander on the second computer into FSXs Flight Planner it then appears as a route in FSXs GPS. ATC Clearances take me from the gate to the runway , then Clears me to take off, After that it wants to give me Headings to my destination. It will not let me follow my Flight Planned route and request report passing my planned route Nav aids. Will Radar Contacted ATC follow my planned route. Trubshaw

Thanks Chaps. ive been away for many years , no I don’t have GSX and I have never tried Dirext X 10 is this better than 9 . is it The DX 10 preview, nerver tried that, or is there a download called DX10 you refer to. My aircraft is the Colenado King Air 350, Wipers and weather radar work in 2D Panel. The turbine spool up and down is to slow compared to a real aircraft otherwise very good. Alan I will post my findings as of interest to others. Route KCAE KCSH useing FSCommand loaded Flight Plan , Gate2. Tug, Not there, so upped FSX airport traffic slider till Tug Appered , then flew went back to setting and upped slider one more, Tug now remains at both airports. Using GoFlight ATC Box, sometimes could not change frequency. So end up taxing all the way back to gate, Solution, using Go Flight Box you have to keep FSX s ATC menus box active, ie a click on it, if you go use your mouse elsware the ATC Menue is not active, so Romberg to click back on it to make it active. If you use a mouse pointer to change frequency they no problem. My Question have filed IFR Flight Plan KCAE let you go fly. But dives instructions and heading to fly straight to KCSH, it’s not allowing me to follow my filed zig zag route. How to I get ATC to say report passing EDI ete. Alan

Hello All I had done FSX on and off for many years, but spent 95% my time trying to improve performance, never done much flying ,only now enjoying the flying, I live in the UK but due to radio aids I fly out of Columbia USA. First time ever tried a full short route KCAE to KCSH on thr coast First flight Gate 2 , happed to have Tug in front of the Plane, used the shift P key for push back. Second time no Tug there, How do I call up a Tug. Used shift P all working but no Tug. Used the R/T promps , Switched on Progressive Taxyway, and R/T all the way to Rwy Hold 05 The route took me across the other runway without a clearance, .? Anyway got all the way to KCSH , told to exit runway, and taxi to gate, I clicked progressive taxyway,, but nothing come up, I’m in 2000m RVR, so I just switched off. Why did progressive taxy not work at Destnation Airport. It would be very useful if someone listed all the key commands for FSX and any use tips to help out. Use of R/T make it much more realistic Hope someone takes the time to list a few commands out , and those not listed in FSX Many Thanks Trubshaw

Hello. if it’s any comfort to you , I’m running at 5.1 GHz with some top gear installed and I’m struggling with frame rate , hoping someone will help me out in fine tuning. Ive been reading some articles, saying FSX is a 32 bit program but run on a 64 bit computer, can use 8 gbs of memory and to be safe install 16 gbs. This 4 gbs is getting mixed up with something else, sorry can’t remember what. All my old stuff is FSX all I know is FSX, probably to old to change for me. But a 64 bit Sim which can use unlimited amounts of whatever is surly to best way forward. FSX just flattens me, 19 to 26 at best just default sceanery with a good add on plane. My cands are two. AMD HD 6900 in eyefinity. In post its been said Nvidia are better for FSX, is this really true, and can you get the same effect as AMD eyefinity grouping of screens. I will get Nvidia if they really are more suited and will increase my frame rate, What is the top end Nvidia card, I seen cards at £8000 but let’s look at £800 max All the Best Trubshaw

Hi Chaps. Ive been away from FSX for quite some time and really need some help. Im in the Carenado King Air 350, FSX, Cloud base 400 ft, RVR 2000 meters in Modrate Rain, The 3 x 20 “ monitors on Main Panel view instrument view, 3 x 24” monitors on Main Panel view instruments, both of these view are adjusted up to show a complet cockpit I use Main Panel views because I can create a better Cocpit overall view. With one 19” monitor showing the King Air Overhead Panel, Top res, 6048x1200 , Botton 5100x1200 , overhead 1284 x 1024 or something like that. All of this together with PCF , CP Flight, and Go Flight panels, Its is pretty impressive looking simulator full enclosed standing at full ceiling height, I built many years ago. All it needs is hydraulic jacks and you could charge £500 per hour. So I’m sitting there with 20 FPS on Defualt sceanery. My Main PC, updated this year, from memory !,, Top to Bottom. A giant Lian Li Case, 3 big fans on the door, Tagan 1500 w PSU, One large Water radiator with push and pull fans each side, Motherboard Asus Maximus Extreme with built in cpu water jacket, CPU i7 7700 binned at 5Ghz, CPU - Z reads 5.1 GHz .On motherboard M1 and M2 slots 2 Samsung Evo drives each 250 gbs, one dedicated to W10 the other to W7. Memory 16 gbs Corsair Domminator with fans, Graphics my old cards 2 x Redeon HD 6950s clocked into the dark orange, sometimes a third card, for the overhead but now running on the motherboard own display port. Botton of case not connected 4 raptor hd , 2 triple heads to go all built into the case. I built it but I really hav,not a clue to what’s it all about. Think of me as one of those motor heads with a wealding tourch . Powerfull FSX flattens it. Regards Alan.

Hi Luke. i have been away from flight Simulator for many years, Im no expert on anything to do with FSX, I just learn by trial and error, I read post on FSX which are wrong or may have been right, Like windscreen wipers will no work on the FsX Main Panel view, but on the King Air they do. I find that a screen of 1600 pixels or 6000 pixels there little difference in frame rate, I find opening sub panels within the main panel again has little effect on frame rate, l find opening another view has a greatly reduces frame rate, and a view of different angles also reduces frame rate. lm at 5 ghs and by opening three views my pc can’t manage it, I have 3 on instruments 3 on cockpit out side view, only using the default sceanery, I try to get my overhead panel up and I’m down to 19 FPS with rain down to 12 it’s useless. My cards are two AMD HD 6950 in eyefinity , I have tried a third card for the overhead, and also tried my pc own onboard monitor output. All will not do it. Have you any suggestions how to get more FPS. Many Thanks Alan I

Thank you for the answer, I have a complex simulator over multi monitors, just managing about 26 FPS when I load FSX weather using a add on King Air 350 aircraft, by adding rain my frame rate falls to about 19 FPS. Will ASN on a second computer give me my 26 FPS back. Im running at 5 GHz on main computer, windows 7 maintains a better frame rate compared to W10 with the setting of rain. I notice the wipers work both in Virtual cockpit and main panel , for me I find two main panels , ie top 3 monitors on main panel adjusted for cockpit view, and another main panel adjusted for instruments on the bottom 3 monitors. I find the focus length of the little hand set the distances you can go to, this limiting the appearance of the set up. Alan

Hello. I hope someone will post in response to my question. I am thinking of purchasing Active Sky Weather Engine for my FSX network and would like to know if. At the moment I have Flight Sim Commander, and Plan G on my second computer both using the FSUIPC INTERFACE as at moment I can not get Sim Connect to work it’s a pig, Plan G is so simple to connect just a port and IP and your done. What interface does ASN require , Does it overwrite the FSX weather, do you set all the FSX weather sliders to zero, AND most of all will I get a higher frame rate , on the runway with 300 ft base in rain with a RVR of 2000 meters at the moment I just get about 19 to 22 not enough. Hello, I trubshaw with no replies to my question a few days ago. Add on sceanery does work over a network because I use to run Just Flight. Sceanery via a Synology external HD, some ten or more years age. i can navigate to the Synology drive open the folder , but the thing won,t run. And I have forgotten how to do it, but some 15 year age it was working I think the frame rate was no different than from to Normal library . My finds are roughly 80 to 10p on one monitor, stretched over three about 40 to 50 Another group of three about 30 to 35 Add another three down to about 20 Add rain and a rvrr of 2000 meters down th about 15 open a third screen one or three makes little difeirance, down to 5. It’s not the number of pixels, it the number of diffract views that destroys thiev frame rate Defualt sceanery, core at 5 ghz, two lots vram SSDs direct on motherboard And powerful cards In those days Radion HD 9600 x2 plus another one for the overhead panel. Kill the machine, at 5 ghz waiter cooled cant manage to fly it with the over head working, this was on the third card, then it pull it out So giving more lane in GC from 8 to 20 then use the motherboard built in board ,, no difference, the three lots of cards may have been a bit better, will try it again trubshaw

Hello I built my FSX simulator some thirty years ago, now just started her up again so I needs some help Well quite a lot of help on many different aspects. I have four computers on a network, really have no idea how I ever run it it’s all Greek to me now. My main computer is running at 5 GHz and my two aircraft being used are a 146 and a KingAir 350 At the moment I’m practicing approach’s in America because you find NDBs, Outer middle and inner markers. First off is Sceanary from my Synology Ethernet drive to FSX, yes it did work many years ago but I have forgotten how to do it. In the fsx sceanery library I can click add, amd follow the path to the Synology HD open to see the files, but click on a folder and nothing happens, How do I get FSX to read from this Ethernet drive. i don’t think FSUIPC is needed for this, but I have this interface working , Sim Connect not working it’s a pigs ear.
