  1. Following up on the conflict between TweakUI and MSFS2020_AutoFPS, I decided to test whether the new nVidia app's statistics overlay causes the same failure. I am pleased to report that it does not. If the nVidia app is loaded after MSFS2020_AutoFPS, it will show NA for FPS. If nVidia is loaded first and MSFS2020_AutoFPS second, both apps will report FPS. But, so far, neither app has caused the other to crash. As for Roman Designs question, I use MSFS2020_AutoFPS in VR. I am still experimenting with settings. I have motion reprojection in the sim set to DEPTH. Using Varjo Aero and RTX4090 on an i9-13900K system. I set the desired fps to 90 in MSFS2020_AutoFPS and the Varjo base software to 45 fps. It seemed to struggle a bit. So, tonight I set the desired fps to 90 in MSFS2020_AutoFPS and the Varjo base to 30 fps. That gives me a solid 30-31 fps in VR with motion reprojection. However, the TLOD and OLOD drop to minimum and the clouds drop from ultra to high. I will continue to play with it but so far, in MSFS2020_AutoFPS has not broken motion reprojection on this system.
  2. I found the solution. The TweakUI utility which came with my graphics card has an on—screen display function (OSD). It puts an OSD in the upper left corner of the screen in certain programs. One of the elements in the OSD is FPS. I saw that it was putting its OSD into the AutoFPS window. As sooon as I turned that OSD off, AutoFPS began to work properly.
  3. I could not find anything in the Windows Event log. However I checked the option to remain "On top" and ever since then the program seems to be working properly even after turning "on top" off again. Let's see how things go tomorrow morning after shutting it off tonight. (0135 local).
  4. I restarted the computer. I moved the installer program window to my my main monitor where FG is set to on. I used the installer to delete the program. After the installer reported that the program had been successfully removed, I reinstalled and ran it. When the window appeared, I clicked the option for it to remain "on top." The window did not disapper and It remained on top. I checked the system tray and the icon was visible. Then, I started MSFS and the window remained on top. It remained on top all the way to the MSFS welcome screen. Then I checked the system tray and the icon was still present. Then, I returned to the AutoFPS window and I clicked to turn on Expert Mode. The instant I did that, the "on top" window disappeared AND the icon in the system tray was gone as well. (I did note that in the system tray, there was now a blank icon between two other icons but the blank one did not respond to either left or right click. The log file looked like this: 2024-03-01 22:51:13.828 [INF] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2024-03-01 22:51:13.857 [INF] [ App:InitLog ] MSFS2020_AutoFPS v0.4.1 started! Received "Access is denied" error. HAGS, Variable Refresh Rate, and Optimization for windowed games settings have no effect. Uninstalling nVidia’s new app has no effect. Runnng nVidia game ready driver 551.61 Disconnected 2nd monitor and restarted. With only one monitor active, the following steps are 100% repeatable on my system. 1. restart computer 2. start AutoFPS app 3. if app window opens with expert options not displaying, click expert options and the window will expand to show expert options. 4. If I then click to deselect expert options OR click to activate OLOD, program will crash and the system tray icon will disappear leaving a process suspended which can’t be killed. 5. if app window opens with expert options displaying, and repeat step 4 and program will crash. What is interesting is that if the program crashes because I select OLOD, on the next restart, the program window will open with expert options showing AND OLOD SELECTED! Marty
  5. In my case, I successfully downloaded and installed the utility. I saw an entry in the system tray. But, when I run it, it will disappear from the desktop. The system tray icon disappears as well. But when I try to restart it, I get an error message that it is still running. In Task Manager, I don't see it on the Processes page but I do find it on the details page marked as "Suspended." But, I can't end the process. I get an error message that the operation could not be completed and Access is denied. When I tried to run the installer to remove the installation, it tells me the program is still running and asks me to shut it down which I can't do. So, I did a shutdown and restart. At that point, I ran the installer to remove it. Removal was reported as successful. I reinstalled it. The installer reported that the install was successful. The main window appeared but again while trying to review the settings, it disappeared and I was back where I started. Running Windows 11 latest build. i9-13900K processor, 64 GB DDR 5-6400 RAM, RTX 4090 GPU. Running MSFS 1.37.5.0. Do you have any idea what may be going on here or even give me a place to start looking? Martin
  6. I am using version 7.0.1 of this mod in MSFS SU12 Beta on Windows 11 Pro and it seems to be working fine for me. This morning, I saw that it was delisted from Flightsim.to. Does anyone know why or if there will be an update? Marty
  7. Black_Sheep, I am having the same problem. Used to work, now doesn't. Same error message.

What did you find was wrong with the permissions on the Roaming folder and what did you do to make it work?

If you get this message, please respond to me by email to martin.green@verizon.net.

  8. Microsoft / Asobo say that they are planning changes to the SDK to make it more flexible or developers in their next major update. Here's hoping that whatever they change makes it easier for you to get what you need done. SkylaneMarty
