High degree of skill there, from one moving ship to another with sling loads - Bravo Zulu. Makes me wonder if we'll see anything like this in MSFS 2024. I doubt we'll get this specific helicopter model from any developer, but I think a Chinook is still in the works for those of us who want a heavy-lift model in the current sim.
Why is this posted in the MSFS forums?

I would say hands down FlyTampa KBOS. Plenty of reviews online to help you steer away from FeelThere.

I agree - mods are becoming too quick to lock an entire thread because of a few bad apples. Give them a day off from the forums and let the rest of us chat.

I believe the only incentive is you get it a week early vs. those who order it on launch day.

I was agreeing that flying crop dusters and rescue missions are mostly the "gamer kids" haha. A lot of us will play with it some, but for the most part it's not your hardcore simmers. The only part I meant "mostly" about was in addition to airliners, hardcore simmers also include our GA guys as well, not just airliners. But I do agree with your opinion - it's just not popular opinion these days with the Xbox crowd.

It's not popular opinion, but I mostly agree.

And here I am just hoping we have working windshield wipers in this new sim 🤣

I’m confident not a single person can answer that for you. Other than showing off some it’s capabilities, we know almost nothing about it yet.

Still plenty of devs that offer the user the customization to turn this on and off. Most inibuilds sceneries allow it for instance. A few UPS aircraft on the ground I can't imagine is that difficult. Just seems silly to have an entire UPS ramp empty. Not everyone wants to fight with adding AI traffic to spots.

I'll be the first to say I'm frustrated. The field looks great, the terminal looks great. Performance seems to be solid and I'll preface this by saying I own almost all of VerticalSims sceneries and have enjoyed all of them, but I very much dislike that the previews for this product show a full fleet of UPS aircraft, but only to find out they don't exist in the final product. The only static aircraft that exists are the FedEx feeders and a single PrimeAir. I'm not opposed to leaving out statics, but make it clear in your description that it doesn't include them. The dev used FSLTL to stage aircraft as though they existed in the product. I've read the feature list over and over and there is nothing that clearly defines they don't exist. I'm not here to riot or shame the dev, but I expect a clear description or allow us the ability to turn them on/off.
What you see in the preview vs. what you actually get.

I'm still very hopeful that Asobo/Microsoft will find a way to open up things so you all can take a stab at it. I really enjoyed the work you all did in p3d and look forward to ActiveSky coming to MSFS one day!

I don't think anything here is super negative though... there's obviously a difference of opinions and I think folks (myself included) are more inclined to defend our opportunity to voice some discontent where others would like us to simply just be quiet. That's where I think the bulk of the argument is and it's bleeding through to appear as though the masses absolutely despise PMDG. That's just not the case. I love the company. Love their products and I jokingly tell people it's like an iPhone, it just works! (Sorry android fans haha). But that doesn't mean they can't do better with their communication, more specifically with the ongoing teasing of "until next month" that we see each time.

Genuine comment and question here… reading this thread it’s starting to turn into two categories:
1) Devs vs. customers
2) Folks who think PMDG has done fine at keeping the community updated and others who disagree.
As a long standing customer of PMDG and someone who openly has disagreed with how communication has been delivered lately, my question is this… at what point are we allowed to say anything? Reading some of these replies it would imply that as a customer I’m expected to sit down, shut up, and like it or leave because we are not allowed to have any input on what we think is going right or wrong.
I’ll go back to my earlier comment in this thread… no one is here with pitch forks. No one is threatening to stone anyone. The damned if you do or damned if you don’t motto is an overly used phrase here and folks love to use it when they feel like they are threatened. Here’s the hard facts… PMDG is making money hand over fist. Let’s stop the dramatics here and making it sound like chicken little simply because folks disagree with how they communicate. Maybe, just maybe…. PMDG could actually improve somewhere and this might be it. Who would’ve thought a company could do better on something?
With all of that said, I will continue supporting PMDG and waiting for ever how long it takes to get the tablet, T7, or Queen, but it’s because they make good products and as long as I continue funding their products and making them money, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that I or anyone be able to provide constructive feedback. I’m not making demands, just providing feedback to my observations. They’re a good company and they’ve done alot for the community, but improvement is not a bad thing.

It's an observation. Like it or hate it, folks are allowed to have opinions. I've been a customer of PMDG since 2004 and that wont change, but replies like yours with this passive aggressive message that we aren't allowed to have an opinion get old after awhile. No one is rioting... no pitch forks... no one calling for someone to be stoned at dawn...

They've pretty much given up on these. If you talk with them, they want an answer as to what exactly is wrong. For instance, they refuse to accept that FLL is terrible now with all of the elevation issues around the field and they stick with their same canned response of, "show us another dev that was able to do it" and blame Asobo. I suspect we wont see anything more out of them when it comes to scenery.... super disappointing they wont just patch what they've made.

Finally a win for the community. One less trash product they can sell.

Unfortunately it was a thing... I too recall the days of flying in p3d from SDF-OMDB, only to find the ground textures blurry. Never really lost performance, but the textures looked terrible and would pop in. Atleast with p3d that's what I experienced.

I’m running DX11, but I’ll run a long haul tonight & see what happens. I will use the BBJ w/ aux tanks.
Yeah, I'm running DX12, but I can't remember if this was an issue with DX11 also. Would be great to have someone test it if you have the chance and yeah, this bug was from a few SUs ago. Hoping they can fix it quickly as well.

I just received the 7950x3d, but have no time to install as I am overseas. I see Kewr has a nice discount, but I hear performance is pretty bad.
I’m running a 13900k with a 4090 and when sitting on the ground at the terminal I’m typically getting around the 80s. On approach I’m usually in the 90s and sometimes it’ll get as low as the 70s in certain places. I’m running at 1440p and have most of my settings on ultra. Hope that gives you an idea.

Looking for a new U.S. Airport do
in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Posted · Edited by Keirtt
I think Richmond International (KRIC) would be an excellent smaller airport to do and right now it has very little competition in the market. I think many of us are biased to the proximity of the airports we ask for, and I'm no exception... but, I do feel that Richmond has several neat features that make it a great build for a developer. For instance, the upgraded Bing photogrammetry in the Richmond area would make any high quality airport blend well with the environment and the city in the background. The size and complexity of the airport make it a relatively easy project compared to some of the others you've considered. I also really like that this airport has some cool hidden gems. For instance, if you check out the bing aerial view, on the eastern side of the field you'll notice a hanger with two 757s pointing at each other. Both unmarked aircraft with the exception of an American Flag (https://www.reddit.com/r/rva/comments/885pm3/plain_white_airliners_with_only_american_flag/)
Central Virginia has been neglected over the years and very few freeware projects exist. The only competition at the moment for KRIC on the payware level is from msfsscenerybuilders and it's brutally terrible. I think this would be an excellent consideration since this airport supports commercial, general aviation, cargo, and military traffic. Most importantly, you'd be working on an airport that isn't a port from a previous sim... it's new and fresh. Hope you'll consider it!
