As I've said before, I'm a returning flight sim pilot thanks to MSFS2020. I have no experience in flying an actual plane. I am trying to relearn everything. I thought about 14 years ago I had this stuff down, or at least a decent grasp on general procedures. Having come back I'm realizing I am a bit rusty. This time I come seeking advice on flight plans. The first leg of my around the world tour is: KOPN to KSBO Using Skyvector it plotted my course as such: KOPN, FORBES, MCN, OTGUQ, CARYS, APELE, DBN, KSOB Is this accurate? I'm assuming they are plotting along victor airways? It set my altitude at 8000 but I changed it to 2500. I'm also assuming with such small airfields that those vectors will put me entering the traffic pattern at KSOB? My plan is to use each leg of my trip to focus on my technique and hopefully improve my flying skills. This is one aspect I've never been sure of. I used to cheat back in the day with a program I think was called, copilot. It would create all the waypoints, told me when to start my decent ect. Anyway, I look forward to any advice, tips or tricks you can give.

Hi, didn't find a hint here or elsewhere: as these sites state Thinkaviation.net , AOPA , swiss government one should close its VFR flight plan shortly before or immediately after landing, on my VFR travel yesterday's evening, I searched for the opportunity to do this. But - maybe I'm a blind dumbass - I didn't find any "close flightplan" or "cancel flightplan" request, neither while connected to center nor to ATC, also I couldn't find such a request in any other "Request" menu. The only request was to cancel flight following, then ATC told me to cancel flight following, radar advisory a.s.o. Could someone shed some light on this topic ? Is cancelling flight following or radar advisories the same as close a flight plan ?

The FBW Airbus has the ability to sync the MCDU Flightplan to MSFS, so even you choose only a departure, you can get a IFR clearance. This works well, at least on my side. Only downside is that you only get the initial climb altitude, and no further instructions to climb. So you have to ask ATC. The other way is to export the simbrief Flightplan to MSFS and import it in the Worldmap. This way you also get instructions to climb to your cruise altitude. I wonder if you can have sync on and also put the Flighplan in the worldmap. And what happens when i change the STAR in the MCDU. Will ATC notice and act accordingly. Because i noticed when all is set up right, the ingame atc is not that bad at all. It also pay attention to alt and speed constraints. Anyone who tried sync on and import Flightplan in Worldmap and afterwards changed STAR or Approach? Regards
