  2. Working Title CJ4 v0.11.0 Welcome to the Working Title CJ4 v0.11.0. In this update we introduce Charts, the VNAV Window on the MFD and enhanced datalink, along with a number of other new features, bug fixes and full Sim Update 3 compatibility. As always, this is a beta - please report issues via our Github issues page here: https://github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages/issues. We invite you to join our discord community here: https://discord.gg/Fa6w2xK. Get it here: https://github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages/releases/tag/cj4-v0.11.0 Installation Installation is easy, simply copy the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder inside the zip file to your MSFS Community folder. Important: We recommend that you fully delete the previous workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder before copying this release. Charts Integration Charts in the CJ4 are powered by Navigraph - special thanks to the team at Navigraph for their support with API integration. In order to use the charts in the CJ4, you need to have a subscription that includes charts - https://navigraph.com/products/subscriptions. If you have a subscription, all you need to do is select the NAVIGRAPH line in MOD SETTINGS in the FMC and that will launch your web browser and ask you to log in to your Navigraph account - from there an access token will be issued. These tokens do time out from time-to-time, so if you're prompted by the aircraft, or if you ever encounter difficulties loading charts, please go back to this option and resync your account. Details on using the Charts capabilities are in the user guide. Here's a video demoing the Charts functionality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZNqV-aCzGk User Guide The User Guide has been updated: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qzxPMTSQRkvau8QOi7xUqNvjx9rbww_qHlso5AT5OnI/ Changes PFD PFD Baro preset function added. (After STD is pressed on Baro knob,, a preset value can be selected and swapped with STD press again once passed transition altitude) MFD Added support for Navigraph Charts (can be selected with CHARTS button on lower control panel). Added VNAV window to FMS text (can be displayed by selecting VNAV WINDOW in the FMC DSPL MENU). Added Advisory Descent (DES instead of TOD) when no arrival or approach is loaded; this will provide an advisory (uncoupled) "DES" point to start descent to reach 1500' AFE 10nm from airport. FMC Added TUNE page functionality - ATC Control page, dispatch function, format changes, Added VNAV WINDOW option to DSPL MENU. Datalink: Added ATIS support for IVAO. Datalink: Changed default METAR source to VATSIM. Datalink: Added support for facilities with separate departure and arrival ATIS. VNAV Fixed bug where in certain circumstances below constraints were not observed in the first segment of the vertical flight plan. Adjusted glideslope capture to be more sensitive and only capture with less than half scale deflection. Adjusted visibility of below constraints on departure to allow them to appear on the PFD and in the VNAV MFD window at a greater distance from present position. FLIGHT MODEL Flight model adjusted and enhanced based on sim update 3 aerodynamic changes. MODEL Added support for livery painters that adjust the panel.cfg file; see the REPAINT_README.MD file included in the CJ4 Docs Folder (REPAINT_README.md). ⚠️ Known Issues PTCH mode will not level off at an altitude and it can have some quirky behaviors. This is currently a sim AP issue. Some external applications that use the GPS/Flight plan SimVars may not function correctly or as expected when FP Sync is off. Loading and saving flights can have bad results. Custom liveries can render FADEC inoperative if they ship with a panel.cfg. Painters should reference the new REPAINT_README.md file included in the docs folder of the Github repository. Autopilot modes cannot be triggered via key bindings or controllers and must currently be triggered in the cockpit with the mouse. External binding applications are adding support for LVars and HEvents. Used SimVars are documented here Sometimes a heading to altitude instruction on takeoff will display further than the first RNAV fix on an RNAV departure procedure; in these cases the workaround is to cross-check the DP chart and remove the erroneous waypoint either by deleting the heading to altitude fix or dropping the first RNAV fix onto the magenta line in the LEGS page. Due to sim autopilot bank rate limitations, the aircraft may overshoot on certain RNP approaches with tight turns. If you encounter this, we recommend hand flying the approach with the given lateral and vertical guidance. The Standby Attitude Indicator switch is reversed in the model, so down (off) turns the SAI on and vice-versa; this will be addressed in a future update.

  4. Working Title CJ4 v0.8.0 - OPEN BETA Welcome to the Working Title CJ4 v0.8.0 OPEN BETA; this represents our largest and most comprehensive update to date. This update includes an enormous navigational systems overhaul, making it an excellent aircraft for a full range of IFR flight activities and procedures. We have also added a number of other great features, like FADEC and a massive sound overhaul. See the full list below. While we've always said these pre v1.0 releases are beta, this one is especially so. V0.7.3 remains available for download for a more stable, but limited, experience. This update begins addressing some of the major challenges with IFR flying in MSFS2020, including flight plan management, RNAV and VNAV/LPV built completely from scratch. This update to the flight planning capabilities allow the user complete control over the flight plan, including full direct to and approach manipulation capabilities via the FMC. This release is incredibly large, and is such very much a beta release. Please check the list of outstanding issues below, and file any issues encountered on our GitHub Issues tracker. We hope you enjoy flying this release! Installation Installation is easy, simply copy the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder inside the zip file to your MSFS Community folder. Important: We recommend that you fully delete the previous workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder before copying this release. Important Feature Change Because this release does not use the built-in flight plan manager, but instead a custom system, by default your flight plan will NOT SYNC with ATC. The sync process can be buggy and is limited by the capabilities of the sim, so we recommend leaving this off, especially if flying online or without ATC. If you do want to use in-sim ATC and want your flight plan to sync with ATC, you can activate this sync feature in the Mod Settings menu accessed via the FMC - press the IDX button, go to page 2, go into MOD SETTINGS and then click to turn on FP SYNC. In addition, because we've rebuilt the Autopilot and FMA interface from scratch, these functions no longer work correctly with the default key bindings or hardware buttons/switches. This is on our list of things to address long-term, but for now to use this version, you will have to use the mouse interface to press any autopilot related buttons (other than AP ON/OFF). For an abundance of clarity, you can use default bindings to engage/disengage the autopilot (for example a yoke button), but to enable/disable modes, you need to use the buttons on the autopilot control panel in the virtual cockpit. Currently all RNAV approaches use LPV in APPR mode due to no minimums type information in the available navdata. Going direct-to on the LEGS page does not give you an EXEC option, it will automatically execute. ⚠️ Known Issues Sync to the game flightplan (ATC/VFR Map) is very much work in progress and turned off by default. You can enable this feature in MOD SETTINGS on the FMC. Some external applications that use the GPS/Flight plan SimVars may not function correctly or as expected. Loading and saving flights can occasionally have bad results. Custom liveries can render FADEC inoperative if they ship with a panel.cfg. You must uninstall them or remove their panel.cfg from the livery folder. This is a limitation of the existing livery system. Autopilot modes cannot be triggered via keybindings or controllers and must currently be triggered in the cockpit with the mouse. Due to sim autopilot bank rate limitations, the aircraft may overshoot on certain RNP approaches with tight turns. If you encounter this, we recommend handflying the approach with the given lateral and vertical guidance. Sometimes when turning more than 90 degrees onto an approach segment, VNAV might give a NOPATH condition because it sees that you are too high. Engage FLC or VS and descend down and it should recapture the path. Very long legs may display some constant cross track deviation on the map and course needles. The plane will still track properly towards the fix. This will be addressed later in the beta. The FMS may stop sequencing your fixes while in APPR mode on an ILS. The FMS now builds turn anticipation into direct-to course projection. However, you will still encounter some overshoot beyond 90 or so degrees. VOR waypoints in the flight plan do not display an icon on the map except when active (to be fixed). If for whatever reason, you find that VNAV is not behaving as expected, try and turn it off and on again. 🎅 Have fun! 🎅
  5. Hi simmers 😃 Love the AAU1 Update, seems we have some whole new planes now, following a few shots from the Longitude.. cheers 😉
  6. Normally we don't make forum posts for point releases, but since this one has a few enhancements and fixes that people might want to see for their weekend flying, we thought we'd go ahead and post it - please forgive the extra thread... 8. Well, quick on the heels of v0.4.0, here is v0.4.1 of the Working Title CJ4. While we fully expect to have to release ANOTHER update after the impending Asobo update, this work was all done, so we figured we'd make it available anyhow... v0.4.1 contains mostly bug fixes, but it does contain an awesome sound enhancement - namely Passenger Briefings! Discord link: https://discord.gg/Fa6w2xK -- Join us on Discord for announcements, latest version checks, feature previews/sneak peeks and discussions about the CJ4 and Garmin projects. Quick Video highlighting the Passenger Briefings: https://youtu.be/DTMzHINHfZY Mod Download Link: https://github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages/releases/tag/cj4-v0.4.1 Scroll down to the bottom where it says assets, download the workingtitle-cj4-v0.4.1.zip Working Title CJ4 v0.4.1 Changes Welcome to the latest update of the Working Title CJ4 (v0.4.1). This is still very much a beta. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this release. Feel free to test out our new Simbrief Profile: SIMBRIEF PROFILE Installation Installation is easy, simply copy the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder inside the zip file to your MSFS Community folder. Important: We recommend that you fully delete the previous workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder before copying this release. Key Features Added Passenger Briefing Announcements (accessed from MFD Upper Menu and PASS BRIEF BUTTON) Fixed bugs with engine thrust when engines off (#222) Adjusted flight dynamics to minimize (but not eliminate) the AP porpoising effect (#163) Fixed V Speed bug (where v speeds would become stuck at -1 after landing) Updated CAS messages (#242) Sound Updates/Fixes FMS Bug Fixes Engine Model Thrust when engines off bug squashed (#222) Flight Model Adjusted elevator trim effectiveness to reduce porpoising and facilitate (careful) FLC usage LEGS Page Fixed Direct to IAF from LEGS page (#220) Fixed approach waypoint display in LEGS page (#220) FPLN Page Fixed bug when adding airways (#226) (thanks @tscharlii ) Fixed bug where invalid waypoints didn't always cause an error PROG Page Updated distances to show decimals under 100NM Fixed reversed XTK and CROSSWIND indications on Page 2 PERF Page Added input filters for QNH on takeoff and landing perf pages (user can now enter 29.92, 299 or 2992) Added protection for TAKEOFF and APPROACH REF pages when no runway is selected (error message will appear) Fixed weight calculation issues (#241) PFD/MFD Fixed FMS Text distances on MFD (#232) Added PASS BRIEF announcements Fixed V Speed bug where some speeds were locked at -1 after a segment (#221) Fixed MFD plane not centered on map (#219) Updated CAS messages for Pitot Heat, Parking Break and Oxy Masks (#242 and #183) Audio Fixed no chime when playing seatbelt announcement Fixed erroneous chimes when setting battery master to on Fixed sounds for internal/external view swaps/fixed passenger sounds stopping when switching to outside view Added passenger briefing announcements (MFD) Fixed announcements to restrict to only one announcement at a time Improvements to climate control knob sound Known Issues Modifications of the flight plan can be slow at times. The cause for this is Asobo's FacilityLoader which they need to fix. When the FMC shows "Working..." it indicates an operation is in progress. Sometimes when entering an airway and the exit fix, the airway name will change to the shared airway, however the routing is still correct. You cannot currently select Direct-To of a fix on your approach that is not the initial approach fix. This is a limitation of the sim flightplan system at present. We are currently overhauling the flight plan management system to allow for much more flexibility and stability. After using Direct-To, the navigation will not always automatically sequence to the next fix and may enter ROL mode. You can re-activate NAV to navigate to the next fix if you encounter this issue. The aircraft is still using the built-in MSFS autopilot (for now). All the existing limitations of that still apply. It does behave a bit better with the various enhancements applied. FLC stability appears to have regressed with the autopilot aircraft energy calculation changes in 1.9.3. We have made some improvements to this behavior in this update. We will continue to investigate after the 13 October 2020 patch is released. Some flight plan distances are still misreported when the approach is activated. We will look at this more carefully after the Asobo update.
  9. I have suddenly started having an issue with the approach button not activating the glidepath when flying an LPV capable RNAV approach. Normally when pushing the APPR button just before the IAF the status on the PFD will show GP in white and, when the glideslope is captured and the diamond moves down to the center, the GP changes from white to green in the status bar and down you go. For the last couple of days, not matter how many times I push the approach button during an active RNAV LPV approach, the GP will not arm (no GP indication whatsoever on the PFD). I am using VPATH to get me to the IAF and am at the proper altitude.I have flown these approaches many times before without the issue. I have tried with different aircraft and at different airports and even with an empty community folder, but the problem persists. The APR button does still activate the glidepath when doing an ILS approach and tuned to the correct frequency for the ILS. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if any of you can offer some suggestions for me to try and fix this. Thanks.
  10. There have been a lot of questions and concerns about the Working Title community packages since WU4 dropped, so here's a quick status update: The G1000 v0.3.5 has been updated and released - you can grab the latest on our packages website here: https://packages.workingtitle.aero/g1000/2021/04/14/g1000-release-v0.3.5.html Due to changes in how planes load their configurations in WU4, we had to change the code that loads custom display gauges from WTEngineDisplay.xml, as is done with our sample for the G36. In order to get these to work now, aircraft creators or modders must put the contents of the WTEngineDisplay section directly into panel.xml, within the body of the main PlaneHTMLConfig section. This is unfortunate, but it was the only way we could preserve this functionality. Doing this to your panel.xml is fully backwards compatible and will not break planes that don’t use the modded G1000. Aircraft modders that are using this capability to customize the engine gauges should reach out to @kaosfere or another member of our team for more details - best to find us on our Discord server. The CJ4 v0.12.1 has been updated and released - you can grab the latest on our packages website here: https://packages.workingtitle.aero/cj4/2021/04/14/cj4-release-v0.12.1.html It's worth noting that the CJ4 was not broken with WU4, we just happen to have a bug fix update ready for release that was in QA this week already. It is purely a coincidence that it is being released at the same time as the G1000 fix. Here's a quick snapshot from the changelog: Re: The G3000 v0.5.1 (https://packages.workingtitle.aero/g3000/) We are not aware of any update-related bugs on the G3000, but if you do encounter an update-related problem, or really any bug with it, please log the issue here: https://github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages/issues Re: The G3X v0.1.0-dev6 (https://packages.workingtitle.aero/g3x/) We have an open bug that pre-dated WU4 where some users experience a problem with SVT; we have (finally) been able to reproduce this problem on one machine, but not the others, and we are actively trying to figure out what's going on here. We hope to have an update that resolves this in the next few days now that we've been able to reproduce it - the bug is not a breaking bug, the G3X can be used without SV with no problem as far as we are aware. Re: Updates, QA and our Community/Freeware Packages Generally, we want to remind everyone what we said after the announcement in March regarding our work with Microsoft. We will make a best effort to keep the community packages updated and functioning, and even continue making enhancements, until these packages are replaced by base sim projects that we've already begun working on. This stuff takes time, but I'm quite confident that many of you will be pleased with product of the work we have planned and have already begun. With respect to the existing packages, since the announcement, we have released major updates to both the G3000 and the CJ4, including a new custom vertical autopilot for the CJ4, and we've shown off the WIP TCAS and Charts for the G3000 in our Discord #progress channel. While I regret even having to say this, any speculation or commentary suggesting that our community packages are no longer important to us or to Microsoft are simply false. Specifically with respect to the WU4 release causing breakage in the G1000, we definitely regret that this happened. While we continue to emphasize that we make no guarantee that future updates won't cause breakage that requires a fix from us, we are actively working with our partners at Asobo and Microsoft to better prepare for future releases, until such time as our packages are deprecated and replaced. As those that have been with us from the beginning know, we have always been extremely attentive to sim updates and often release fixes within hours. In this case, it took us just about 20 hours to get our fix into QA, and a few more to publish the fix on our website and Discord server - not our fastest, but also not our slowest. As always, we are humbled by the support many of you have shown us and we appreciate all the feedback - as we said in our partner video, this entire project is a direct result of community feedback and that feedback continues to directly influence our future projects. 👍
