I have followed the instruction from Tutorial #1 on the 777 booklet. MY FMC is not showing the predicted altitude after I complete the section on page 0.00.42 on the legs screen.

 

I have even finished out the entire FMC tutorial and they never appear.

 

I took off, Autopilot and LNAV and VNAV engaged, but no predicted Altitude.

 

Am I missing something?

You mean the "5500A"?

 

That is not a predicted altitude. (predicted altitudes/speeds are written in small letters).

This 5500A means you HAVE to pass this point at 5500ft or Above (as can be seen on the Departure chart at the end of the tutorial).

 

if your legs page does not show this, then that is because your navigation database is not the same as the one shown in the tutorial.

Did you update your NAV database from Navigraph?

If so, maybe the 5500A is not valid anymore and so it was deleted.

Or, your NAV database provider has forgotten to put he 5500A in at MM012.

 

In any case, if your Departure plate tells you to be 5500ft or higher at MM012, and your NAV database does not have it programmed like that, then you should enter it manually.

 

Happens all the time in real life too!

 

Just enter /5500A on the right hand side of MM012. (backslash 5500A)

I was looking at the tutorial... each leg has the speed and altitude the the 777 will try to achieve at each given point. It's like the Level-D 767... I can see what altitude and speed I will be at for ascent and descent. 

 

However, I am not getting that information.

You are not getting predicted speed/altitude info anywhere?

 

That only happens if you forget to put in data on the performance page.

Yep. Got all of that.

 

Route. SID and STAR. Weight and CG. Take off references. All of it. I competed the whole tutorial. I got nothing.

After you enter your data on the PERF INIT page make sure you press EXEC.

Pressing EXEC is not required in the 777.

I did make a suggestion thinking you were talking about the NGX (as I already indicated). FYI once you make a post you can't delete it...but you can go back and edit it for clarification.

You dont have FSX installed in the programs folder do you?

(can cause problems)

 

Did you install the 777 with antivirus scanner on?

If so, reinstall with the AV scanner off/inactive.

 

Other than that, ask PMDG.

I almost hate to be myself, but my bet is still user error (can you tell I worked at, and now support, a help desk? :ph34r: ).

 

Can you post some screenshot of what you're seeing, and what entries you used that are not giving you appropriate outcomes?

777 and Scan....

 

I have no doubt this is user error. I just dont know what I missed.

 

I will work on getting a screen shot for a post. 

 

And the other questions... No, FSX is on the C:\FSX path. 777 Software install was done per instructions. No virus scan software running during install and even the FSX directory in the ignored state for active scans.
