About 5.0 hours in to a KSEA EHAM flight with the PMDG 777 I had a CTD and got the following error.

What does this mean.

One person fixed his by deleting or moving his p3d.cfg to a temporary folder, then restarting P3D and letting the config rebuild. Most likely your settings are too high or you put a tweak in your config (bad!).

Jim,

Thank you for your advice. I removed the cfg to a temp folder and restated P3D.  Did two flights. 1 with the PMDG 737 and the other the 777.

Again after 2-3 hours a CTD. The only problem now is I cant locate any error codes logged.  So now I am lost.

Did you run AppCrashView or check out your Event Viewer?  See AVSIM CTD Guide for links and directions (see link to the guide in my signature).  A 2-3 hour flight can result in an OOM because of the loss of VAS.  I have had several.  Back in 2007, you could fly for hours without an OOM because the systems were not as powerful as today.  Everyone knew they had to manage their settings to prevent an OOM.  There was only 2-3 GB's of VAS back then too.  Now Microsoft Windows has given you 4 GB's and people think they have a very powerful system and can crank up all of the sliders and, when they do, there's an unknown crash.  So, unfortunately, you have to lower your p3d and display driver settings.

Jim,

I am doing a 4.0 hour flight KSEA/KMEM with PMDG 737NGX with the sliders turned back about 25%.

I will tell you how that goes.

Jim,

Any thoughts. This is the only thing I can find after a CTD this morning doing a trans Atlantic flight.

Still happening but not throwing error codes in Events or AppCrash logs I am ordering a 2tb Passport storage drive. I will copy all of my flight sim files over to that and then do a WIN 10 reset. I did an upgrade from Win 7. I suspect that something was left out during the upgrade. I guess it is time to do this all over again. If there is a quicker way of doing this let me know. Randy
