FRs slowly decay and stay that way

Featured Replies

Welp,It does look to be a known issue after I return a day later (wow look at how many posts there are!).I have given up on the VC, but I can get alright performance with just 2DJeff

I have the same problem on a high end machine. I am only using the 2D panel. There must be a problem with the memory programing. I have also noticed that after exit FS2002 my harddrive is working overtime and I find programs slow to load for a few seconds as Windows XP recovers the memory.Andrew.

Bert,Increase the size of the page file to 800Mb - 1Gb and it will help significantly with 2D panels. I'm getting same frame rates with the PMDG737 as with the default 737 panel.Cheers,

Gentlemen-I want you ALL to try to test this scenario:Load ANY of our aircraft that you feel exhibits a drop in frame rates. Go into the 2D panel FIRST, before going into the VC at all. Observe frame rates. They should be fine. Now go into the VC. Observe frame rates. Now go back into the 2D panel. Observe frame rates. (Should be LOW).Now (IMPORTANT!) - CLICK OUTSIDE FS - somewhere else on the desktop. Anywhere.Go back into FS. Are your frame rates restored?I would like all of you to run this test for me and report back here. Many thanks,

Hi,I'm also suffering from the same problem, so I have completed this test, and it actually worked. After focusing again on FS2002, the frame rates on the 2D panel were back to normal. Regards,Zoltan HegedusBudapest, Hungary

Yes it's becomes normal, after that test in 2D panel, but only on the certain time and if to try again will be switched from VC and back to 2D, again fall to 5 - 6 FPS.J.Ringis

Yes they are Lefteris,Frame rates 2D panel 111.4 FPSVc Frame rates 18.1 FPS2 D frame rates coming back 8.5 FPSWent out and back and back in triple digits!http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/21141.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/21143.jpg[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Hi Lefteris,I ran your test as requested. Aircraft sitting on the ground with engines off for the test. Here's what I found.1. Loaded PMDF737 and selected 2D cockpit. Frame rate = 22fps.2. Switched to VC. Frame rate = 17.5 dropping to 14.8 after 1 min.3. Switched back to 2D. Frame rate = 13.8 dropping to 7.8 within 2 mins.4. Clicked outside FS and then back to FS (2D). Frame rates = 18.6 rising to 20 within 1 minute. The reduction in performance wasn't as bad as I thought but I have made changes to my system in the last 24 hours. Here's what I've done...1. Increased RAM from 512Mb to 1Gb.2. Increased page file from 700Mb to 1Gb.3. Set Frame Rate limiter on FS2002 to unlimited".These changes I've made have breathed new life into my Athlon 2000XP / Ti4600 128Mb system and would recommend them to anyone.I hope this is of use to you.Cheers,
