July 2, 200322 yr The 373NG's vector gauges clearly show that the price for such instruments is a massive framerate breakdown, especially if the gauges are detached and increased in size. With the Lago Terramesh Europe 2002 installed, I get very low framerates when trying to land at LOWI. I have the PFD detached (default size) for better readability. Landing is not very smooth. What does interest me now is whether a processor upgrade will significantly meliorate my situation (currently Athlon 2200+ on an A7V8X Via KT400 board with Radeon Pro 9500 and 512MB RAM).Great Product, the 737NG, would even purchase it at twice the price!Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. July 2, 200322 yr Hi Andreas! How are you?Do you have a consistent degradation of framerates or is it due to the VC problem described elsewhere? On my first flight I loaded the VC version and had single digit FPS. Choosing a 2D only version didn /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
July 2, 200322 yr Hejsan Tord! Are you saying you don't experience a deterioration of fps even when using VC or are you sticking to 2D after the reboot? Mine drop from about 20 to 7-8 once I've been in VC mode but have no problem if I stay in 2D the whole time. But I believe Rob et al is on to it!/KristerMariehamn, Finland Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
July 2, 200322 yr Hi,I too have some problems with the framerates but I'm still trying to fiddle around with the display settings and I didn't have the chance to try the 737 for too long now (sometimes a little sleep is not that bad :)).Foe the moment I get around 14 fps in the VC but the framerates drop to single digits sometimes when using the 2D cockpit. The first thing I did wrong I think was to use the normal 2D cockpit and the one with the bigger PFD at the same time - switching off the normal 2D cockpit did improve the framerates.Next thing is that the 2D cockpit looks fantastic with high resolutions, with 1024x768 some gauges are a little hard to read. Using a higher resolution des not have that much of an impact on the framerates when in the 2D cockpit, put gives a problem when in VC or a spot view.Switching between 2D, VC and the sport views is sometimes very slow, especially when going through the whole cycle. Switching back and forth between 2D and VC is OK, but sometimes I just hit the wrong button ... I think my 512MB RAM might be the limiting factor here as the system is swapping like hell when exiting the simlator. My system is an Athlon 2100+ on a SIS 735 board, GF3 ti 200 and 512MB Ram. Thomas
July 2, 200322 yr Im having FPS probs in the 2d cockpit for some reason. I have the refresh rate on like 7fps which is very low!!!. I usually have problems while taking off and landing-they are usually 10fps which i consider very low providing everyother piece of quality payware panels never go below 20fps!!!. This is a big differance and i see no big differences in how complex all these payware panels are?Another thing when loading another part of the panel such as overhead it takes like 30 seconds to load!!!, this is very slow and once again i have never experianced this in other payware products such as PSS320, GA737, PSS777, PSS747 or PIC767. It seems to be just a bit slow for cockpit views?? Thanks!
July 2, 200322 yr This is a *known* issue guys and will be fixed, what's happening is it's somehow using a large amount of system resources if you switch to the VC and back to the 2D causing frame rates to fall so low. July 2, 200322 yr Hi Ben. Try using the 2D only version. As I mentioned earlier I get good frame rates as long as I don /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
