Can I use Rob Barendregt's pushback gauge in the 737NG?

Featured Replies

I have integrated ROb's pushback and taxispeed gauge in all my panels as this makes pushback a much nice experience than slewing the plane. Howver, for some reason I have not managed to get that to work in the PMDG panels.Anyone succeeded?

In a word.. YES!!1.. There is a thread that has the instructions on what to do. This was posted a while back. I have just the pushback function set up on my PMDG panels..------------------------------------------------------------------Joe F."It's not the fall that kills ya. Joe, thanks a lot!I tried searching for it, no avail, but since now I know that there is thread, I can try some other keywords. Cheers

here is how i did itthis should go into the section below gauge00gauge01=rcb-gauges!PushbackStates, 507, 474, 1gauge02=rcb-gauges!PushbackDisplay, 507, 474, 86,64gauge03=RobSound!Rob-Sound, 0, 0, 1I didn't succeed in getting the sounds to work, but hey, it's allready doing the pushback. Also make sure your pushback assignment in the MSFS key assignments is set to SHIFT+P otherwise these gauges wont work eithercheers

Try adding this to your panel.cfg file under the Radiostack section, usually [[Window08]].//vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv ADDITION OF GROUND HANDLING GAUGES vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvgauge01=rcb_groundhandling!XMLSoundSwitch, 510, 431, 40, 26gauge04=rcb_groundhandling!PushbackDisplay, 510, 467, 86, 64gauge07=rcb_groundhandling!PushbackStates, 0,0gauge08=rcb_groundhandling!XMLSoundServer,0,0gauge09=rcb_groundhandling!BrakeSound, 0,0gauge10=rcb_sound!sound,0,0,,,9998 9999 85 // 95 : Default overall sound volume//^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ADDITION OF GROUND HANDLING GAUGES ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^And then of course you'll have to copy the needed gauges files included in Rob's file to the Gauges directory under your FS folder as described in Rob's ReadMe file.

I also have Robs Guage installed on some planes, along with the british voice alternative sound set, it is really good, but, I have not installed it to the pmdg because pmdg already has a key assignment utility in the menu bar that works very well using the arrow keys.

Good that you brought up a 10 year old thread that most likely  not used any more anyway. beside you got better option now gsx   and fs2crwew is bringing out  a push back option

Hiya, just came across this thread when doing some searching on pushback procedures.

Peter has already replied to you regarding more suitable options (GSX or FS2CREW UGCX - whenever the latter is released). I can add that I have recently tried Rob Barendregt's ground handling gauges in the PMDG NGX. From the same gate and the same pushback distance followed by the same angle to turn, both the PMDG and Rob Barendregt's pushback routines put my NGX on exactly the same spot of grass alongside the apron 8-(. So in my experience, Rob's gauges - though I have used them with older jets for a long time and quite successfully - don't improve the NGX's pushback performance. In addition, I had to install them in the 2D panel - which I don't use for anything else these days - so that would leave you stranded in aircraft that no longer come with 2D panels. IOW, probably best if you don't consider Rob's gauges (with all due respect to Rob).

Cheers,
Emile Bax.
