October 10, 200421 yr I was wondering what the futute is for the 737. Is there going to be new features added to the FMC or some other thing? Or is it a closed project never to be touched again?-Mikkel
October 10, 200421 yr Mikkel - Don't forget when you are talking about the 737 you are actually talking about two already released, mature and stable products (the 600/700 v 1.3 and the 800/900 v1.1) plus one possible, yet to be decided, third package consisting of the BBJ/MIL line of the 737 NG. The two first packages I would consider as pretty much closed. And the third package won't see the light of day until after the 744 project has reached a mature state. But I'm sure the devs can elaborate on this much better than I can. There has been some posts about this in the past as well. You might want to do a search for it.Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 10, 200421 yr Okay thank you, I'll do a search. It's not that I think there is anything wrong with the 737, I think it's amazing. I was just wondering if it's a closed chapter in the PMDG's eyes.-Mikkel
October 11, 200421 yr I guess what I really wanted to know is if the FMC is going to be upgraded at some point...if it's even possible. I know PMDG is making big strides in making this simulation as real as possible, with the 747 and such. Maybe some of the new "technology" could trickle down into the 737?-Mikkel
October 11, 200421 yr Mikkel - >Maybe some of the new "technology" could trickle down into the 737?That's what some of the devs from PMDG has hinted. As well as IRS implementation for those who would like that. But no promises so far, just hints. Would be neat though. And there are a few things to iron out on the latest patch. ;-)Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
October 11, 200421 yr Would be nice to have the new Vertical Situation Display now available on the NG's as well. Big improvement for vertical flight path awareness similar to what the map display does for the lateral path.Don S.
October 11, 200421 yr Yeah was mentioned long ago. Never know in the future after the 747 maybe just maybe the BBJ will see the light of day. Along with the VSD (even if it's possible, not sure) the HUD in the landing panel view would be awesome.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. October 20, 200421 yr Randy - top posting by yourself as usual. As an ex-737 driver with many friends still flying them in RL (real life), it might be worthwhile to know that many of us actually use PMDG for certain pre sim checks - jsut to make sure we are on top of things. While the CBT stuff the various airlines and the manufacturer (Boeing) provide, it's a useful tool. So, PMDG, given your great work, perhaps some consideration could be given to retrofitting any new FMC or systems functionality from your current and upcoming work on the 744 and MD-11 back into the 737NG where appropriate?Kind regards all, CHardy
October 20, 200421 yr I am wondering if there is any hope to see an integration of the weather radar anytime soon in FS2004 addons like the PMDG 737 or 747. I have been toying with the idea to acquire Active Sky but eventhough I am running a 3.2 GH computer, I realise that with FDC, Traffic 2004, Active Camera and FSNav (not to mention detailed sceneries), when I fly the PMDG 737, my F/R start to crawl, so adding weather with AS and its weather radar does not seem like a good idea.Any feedback on performance from simmers using the same addons and is the integration going to happen with PMDG?Best regards,
October 20, 200421 yr Jean-Claude - Hi and greetings from near YSSY...I recall seeing that the problem with what you want is the actual FS9 weather engine...Do a search on weather radar within this PMDG forum and I'm sure you'll find the relevant comments....regards, Chardy
October 20, 200421 yr Since AS2004 as configurations for almost everything, I believe that you can get a "no FPS hit configuration". The problem is that as soon you see what the program can do you will not go back to FS weather and want to enalble a lot of them.Jos
