Typing LEMG ( malaga) in the fmc of the pmdg boeing results in a message LEMG error: MGA23 unknown. I tried several airports and no problem occurred. I loaded the newest airac cycle. Can anybody tell me what is wrong?:-zhelp

Hi,The reason is that the waypoint MAG23 is not anymore included in wpNavFIX.txt of the 0501 cycle, this means that the procedure you are using for LEMG has not been updated to the latest cycle. I suggest you contact the author for an update. Once again both the AIRAC and the procedures should be in sync as to the cycle number. Otherwise there may be problems like this one.Michael

Hi Michael,>The reason is that the waypoint MAG23 is not anymore included>in wpNavFIX.txt of the 0501 cycle, this means that theNeed a little more info on this one Michael. If MAG23 was defined as a NAVAID then what you say is correct but if it was defined as a FIX then MAG23 does not have to be in wpNavFIX.txt. This would mean there is some other problem going on.RegardsTerry

Hi Terry,Well, I should have been more precise in my earlier message. The LEMG procedure which comes with your package works perfectly with AIRAC 0501 and why should it not be so since your procedures are in sync with 0501. Logically I tried to identify which procedure was creating the error mentioned. Soon I found it was about the LEMG procedure which is in the IAO of NavData. this one was last updated sometimes in April 2004 and it does create the error message listed by the user who wrote the first post. Here we have a perfect example again of the possible confusions which arise from mixing procedures. I guess we have to emphazise again and again that overwriting procedures is a very tricky matter.Michael

Hi There Michael,>Soon I found it was about the LEMG procedure which is in the>IAO of NavData. Good detective work Sherlock. I'd say "what's your name" who started this about LEMG should contact the author of that file so it can be fixed.>Here we have a perfect example again of the possible>confusions which arise from mixing procedures. I guess we have>to emphazise again and again that overwriting procedures is a>very tricky matter.Yup, education will probably be one post at a time. I'd guess it's too much for navdata.at to filter out procedures with outdated navaids or runways. Hmmmmm, would it be appropriate to ask navdata.at to remove this file since it is bad, I wonder?RegardsTerry

Hi,Just got the 737-600/700. I have also got A340 Professional, both have FMC's and i have really enjoyed the A340 one. Not bothering to read the rules(Thought they would be similar :( )I messed up the first few flight's.Now I have read the book & FMC manle I don't understand WHY we need to update the Navdata(Sid/Star/Iap) if we keep everything the same as when it came from the box then there shouldn't be a problem, should there? (as both Boxed Navdata & AIRAC should be the same) What happens if your NOT on the ineternet? Does this mean you cannot use the PMDG 737 package?I'm just alittle confused about these things at present.Regards,Shaun Marshall.

I was exactly in your situation just update to the latest and then keep that cycle for ever, you don't need to update every month hopefully one day we will have a button on the fmc that states an update button and with one simple click we can have the latest. As far as keeping the boxed ones i personally wouldn't as there was some problems that i read about and that they mentioned to update, you don't want to be stuck flying somewhere and your fmc doesn't have information for it.As far as not being on the internet then i suppose they need to get it a different way or ask a friend to put it on disk. Also not having internet access will also mean no real weather etc..... Hope this helps you! Don't worry I was in the same situation not too long ago as you so i'm passing on the word to help you. It gets easier!!!!

Hi,Thanks for that.BUT I know have a problem i think, I've managed to get the new Sid/Stars BUT I cannot get the AIRAC program downloaded, corrupt file keeps coming up when i try unzipping through win XP or Rar/WZip.Does anyone know where else you can get apart from :http://www.navdata.at/or can you get away without it?????Thanks again,Shaun.

>Here is a link http://home.sw.rr.com/filesherenow/index.htmlNo sorry, this is the download link for the terminal procedures(Sid/Star/IAP) from Terry Yingling. As far as I know the Airac cycles can only be downloaded from Navdata. Remember that inside the zip there is an exe file, just doubleclick on it and run the program. Follow the on-screen instructions and set the destination directory to your Fs9 main folder.

Why not make the whole process 'an executible download' that extracts every file that is needed and puts it into it's correct location ??noullet

  • 4 weeks later...

I'm I missing something here or is there already an 'executible download file' that inserts the AIRAC, Sids, Stars & IAP's all at once and into their proper folders??I really never got an answer to my original msg. back in Feb...Regards,jack
