Greetings Captains! PMDG has long been know for developing highly sophisticated airliner simulations. One of our main goals in developing the PMDG 747-400 has been to create an aircraft that will appeal to a large cross section of simmers. Whether you are a hardcore systems techie , cockpit aficionado, casual simmer or an eye-candy junky, PMDG has has built an aircraft that aims to please. The aircraft is extremely customizable, with dozens of options to make the aircraft suite every user. Whether you want to change the timing of the IRS alignment, change the fuel load on the fly, or even hide the virtual cockpit, you will find what you need in the PMDG options menu. http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...747_Options.jpg You can also assign custom key commands for hundreds of panel functions... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...47_Keyboard.jpg Feel like spicing up your flying? Choose from 155 possible failure scenarios , from aft cargo temperature problems (maybe the heat control valve fail ed and your aft cargo area falls into a reversionary temperature control mode ? You should run the appropriate checklist from the manual to handle this! ) to complete engine meltdowns ....http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...47_Failures.jpg Monitor the entire aircraft sysems status on the lower EICAS: Electrical, Pneumatic, Fuel and more!... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...Lower_Eicas.jpg The systems is where this airplane really shines. The interaction and interdependancy of the aircraft systems mirrors the real aircraft so even minor system failures will have consequences for related systems on the airplane. Lose an engine and there are consequences that extend beyond just the flight performance. Lose AC bus capability and you will see the rippling effects that loss of power generation can have on a large aircraft. Even the small details are carefully modeled, such as which light bulbs and annunciator systems are powered by which electrical busses. On this "cold and dark" airplane, notice the #4 SYS PRESS light illuminate on the hydraulics panel... This annunciator is wired to be active even when only the battery switch is active. Why? The #4 Hydraulic System provides you with parking brake pressure when the airplane is parked and no other hydraulic sources are available. So it's important for you to be able to tell immediately whether the #4 System is holding enough pressure to keep your new 747-400 in place! (In this case- there is not sufficient pressure!) http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...ne_Shutdown.jpg and then, sure enough, when you add more power to the airplane the center EICAS, the brake source warning... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...ne_Shutdown.jpg The center EICAS is programmed with over 350 possible advisory, caution and warning messages. The aircraft will keep you on your toes, and immerse you in the reality of systems management. You won't have to "go it alone" however, as we have written a 376 page operating manual that will soon be followed by a 50+ page tutorial written by our own Captain Randazzo. The tutorial will teach you some large aircraft flight techniques, as well as some real world airline pilot decision making skills. (Tutorial will release not long after the airplane is available for sale...) In the unlikely event that you do have a moment, take a breather and relax on the upper deck virtual cabin. Watch your step when those service doors open.... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...G_747_Cabin.jpg Explore the virtual cockpit's hundreds of animations. You can even raise and lower the sun shades when the glare starts getting to you.... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for..._747_Shades.jpg The crispness of the virtual cockpit will make you feel like you are really there. But if you prefer 2D panels, the PMDG 747-400 comes well equipped. Fly from the right seat, or the left, both panels are represented. Overhead, throttle, FMC, even a popup chronometer. Night flying will take on a new dimension, with light settings, from completely dark, to backlighting only, to the two stages of panel flood lighting, PMDG has created a lighting scheme to appeal to every user... http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...el_Lighting.jpg Moving to the exterior of the aircraft. Every detail has been modelled. Notice the accurate deployment of the spoilerons. http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...ol_Surfaces.jpg and the detail doesn't stop there! The control surfaces of the aircraft will interact with aircraft systems in ways you have never seen before. For example, the split rudder, if not powered by hydraulcs, will weather vane in the wind...based on wind speed and direction from the rudder... So stretch your legs folks, because once you get your hands on this bird, you may never leave your chair again...Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg
