They could have called it the -800 because there were designs that never formed into reality. Kind of like software that is relesaed as version 1.0, and when you get an update, it could be 1.6, but .1-.5 were updates in house until the correct one which was 1.6. Just a guessAnd these 2 launch customers are great news for Boeing, both are big cargo haulers, I wouldn't be surprised to see more sign on. The A380F just seems too big for everyone except FedEx and UPS
