August 9, 201015 yr how do you get the FO panel on the second monitor? I also put panels like overhead and fmc on the second monitor but it is also possible to use VC on the main and some 2D panel on the left and it won't affect the performance. Some addons also have a captains panel and an FO panel and you can put one on each monitor. The PMDG747 has that setup but unfortunately when you do that it doesn't look that good. The Aeroworx Superking air however works very well for that. Here is a picture of my setup and please remove it if it's not appropriate!!http://forums.avsim....iles/142589.jpg
August 9, 201015 yr Hi Xander, First off, please sign your full name to your posts, per forum rules - thanks. The person you're quouting here also mentioned "Some addons also have a captains panel and an FO panel and you can put one on each monitor." This holds true on 2D panels only on some aircraft. I take it you want to stretch your entire view across 2 monitors seemlessly? There are ways to do this, but only one I know of to make it so the full dash is connected etc...As far as I know, there is only one way to make it seemless and only one fps friendly way. I did it with two monitors for a short time but the center of the screen having the two monitor bezels always being where my menus (addon menus) popped up drove me nuts, so I went with 3 monitors also stretching the same way. There is 0 FPS hit and I run FSX at 5040x1050x32. Unfortunately this is the higher end type set up in cost since to make this work you 1st need to have nearly the same exact monitors (some exceptions) and also need to spend some coinage on another box called the "Matrox Triplehead2go" (they have a double head for a little cheaper but a wast of money when trip might be what you settle for). Here's a pic of my 3 - 26"Here are some actual in game screen shots. Some of these you can see my fps doing more than fine and I am running loads of addons (Rex2, UT2, PMDG, etc, etc...).Click the Images for much larger pictures in 5040x1050.*A tad smaller:I wish I were rich, I would buy everyone this setup. It's hard to remember simming with only one screen. There's so much screen real estate, you feel the turning.*Note: 2D panels will not run at this rez. These are all done from the VC with the aid of the 2D resizable popups. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
August 9, 201015 yr Dan, very realistic looking, except for the soda. ;) Back to the OP, I have tried different things with my two monitor set up. When running in full screen, I do sometimes expand the VC over two screens. Its ok, but I find it tends to be difficult if you are using exlusively the VC to navigate the view up to play with the overhead, then look back, etc. More recently, I've been using windowed, which looks ok, but still I find navigating around quickly to be a bit of a PITAOn the older birds (especially the 744), I find that using the second screen for pop ups is still the best way while in full screen mode. You can leave the overhead and/or the FMS up, which I find helpful. YMMV.Note, that most recently I've been flying the J41 almost exclusively, and there I tend to use it windowed and don't really use the second monitor much for the reasons I noted above. The overhead is smaller, so I tend not to need it that much other than lights/passenger instructions, once the engine is running. August 9, 201015 yr My preferred use for a two monitor setup is to have one for FSX, and the other for everything else. Flight Ops manuals, Navigraph charts, flight-aware, sim-routes, and so on. Then you do not need to worry about them being the same size or resolution etc. My next upgrade (budget permiting) will be closer to Dan's setup (I wish he was rich). Paul Smith.

August 9, 201015 yr I have used both two and three monitors, no FPS hit here, still the same, I never fly in VC or have the cockpit displayed at all, this is my setup for my 744. Thanks Paul www.airlinephoto.co.uk
August 9, 201015 yr I have two PCs, interconnected through the router, each with two 19" screens. My master PC displays the 2D and 3D FSX cockpit on one screen, with the other used to display the 2D overhead panel. My slave PC runs ASX, nDac (maps), Pegasus (the BA Virtual client), Squawkbox 4 and ServInfo/VATSpy/Dolomynum.This setup means that my FSX displays do not share with anything except FSX visuals.Although very impressive, I am unlikely to be able to financially justify a move into spreading a single 3D image across multiple monitors.HTH,Cheers, Richard :( Cheers, Richard Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.2 GHz, 16 GB memory, 1 TB SSD, GTX 1080 Ti, 28" 4K display Win10-64, P3Dv5, PMDG 748 & 777, Milviz KA350i, ASP3D, vPilot, Navigraph, PFPX, ChasePlane, Orbx

If I only had two monitors again I would continue to do it this way. Having a screen dedicated to charts and websites is awesome. Ever since I went with my current set up I have had wanted to build another comp and network them again like Richard, but more for my addons to run from and give me back the ability to have my web access and run FS-Widgets when in full screen on my FSX rig. I have a big fam (brothers and sisters wise) and everytime I build another comp someone always needs it :(*Nice setup Paul (Jobepilot). Who does that mcp? I hope to someday get back into cockpit building but for now like just a couple small (and cheap) devices to add to the fun. The two Saitek throttle quadrants and Saitel panel (only $100) are great, especially since it keeps my desk free for work stuff (you know, like eating dinner at my comp). I actually have the yoke stuffed on one of my desk shelves and just use a Thrustmaster hand controller most of the time, since I didn't like the mounting options and again need space for other things. I also love the force feedback personally. It adds a lot for me in my simming, especially feeling a stall like stick shaker effect. If I had the desk space I would combine the force feedback eggs from it to inside the saitek yoke. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
August 9, 201015 yr VRinsight for the MCP its very good with the PMDG products http://www.vrinsight.com/public_html/index.php Thanks Paul www.airlinephoto.co.uk
August 10, 201015 yr I would like this too, but its highly annoying to have the sim stop when you click over to check the approach plate or something.Turn off the "Pause on Task Switch option" and FSX doesn't stop. Paul Smith.
August 10, 201015 yr Here is an old screenie of the PMDG 747 with both Captain & FO panels displayed. Be aware however, that there is much duplication between these panels. The developers obviously never anticipated both panels being displayed together on multiple monitors. To overcome the duplicate areas, I overlayed a CDU,Lower EICAS display & SW Panel,Chronometer,& misc Sw Panel. On the third monitor(left side) you can see the bottom underlayed edges of the Overhead & COM panels- click on either to bring it to the top for viewing/usage.(AMD XP2200/1.8 CPU & 2 GeForce FX5200 GPUs)Alex ReidExperimental dual panels.
