Back to back flights...FMC question

Recommended Posts

Greetings all,I'm sure this question has been answered previously but I couldn't find anything in the forum. If I'm doing 2 flights in a row (eg: LGA-ORD, then ORD-DEN) how do I reset the FMC between flights? I know I can reboot FS, but if I'm flying on VATSIM I'd prefer to sit at the gate and reset everything without logging off. I tried entering the current airport in the "POS ident" box but that didn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks,Ron

To clear the route just delete the origin airport on the first RTE page. After entering your new route just fill in the rest of the pages with the new information. Don't forget to activate and execute when needed.

The only problem I've had with flying multiple legs is often the autothrottle will reduce thrust right after takeoff. This is in spite of the fact that the new route and preflight data is properly done, and there is not a message to indicate a problem. My work around is to engage autothrottle after takeoff (sometime during flap retraction) and from then on everything works well.Mult-leg flights have come up in the forum before. You are assured that the above problem won't occur if you end the flight (from the FS menu). I haven't had this problem with the 747.
