Thanks Randy, and everyone else, for your replies here. I like the encouraging comments from fellow PICers that the 737NG is playing in the same league, and in some cases exceeding the standard set by our beloved 767. As some have stated, $40 sets a new benchmark for an add-on aircraft, and perhaps with a patch to fix at least the significant issues (and let's not forget a manual!) it could pan out to be worth the bux. Personally, I think I'll wait this one out for a while until the product beds in ie. when its revolutionary capabilities better match up with its revolutionary price. What I really want for Xmas is a 767 PIC comeback in FS2004 (payware is OK too if it comes "enhanced"), but this has been the subject of numerous other threads. A guy can dream can't he!Gary

Hi,I hope (and believe) that the guys at PMDG will issue a patch that has been done with attention to detail. I received an email from Van (PMDG developer), who basically said that this will be the case. So we can expect a lot, and I have no doubts that they will do their part :).What comes to PICv2. It would be another dream come true, and I'm sure everyone here knows my enthusiasm with this bird. The PIC767 really is something else, and an update to it would be almost too much to handle ;).It seems that we are living another golden era of simming yet again with FS2004 coming and PMDG stuff out (+ the 800/900 and BBJ parts), and with the possible v2 PIC update it would just be amazing... amazing I say! Dear Randy,Would that also be possible to mail me the 737 manuals. Thanks for your help in [email protected] - TRVACC _Vatsim

Dear Randy, would it be too much if I asked for them as well?I find it a bit embarrasing asking but if it's not difficult for you, my (only one that currently has enough space) e-mail address is: [email protected] in advance! :-)

Personally, until they work out some kinks, I would hold off. Check out this map display produced by simply going direct to LUCOS with INTC set (and a hold at LUCOS):http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/21036.gifI think once they get the kinks out it will be a very nice product, but personally, I feel like it was released prematurely. I feel like a $40 paying beta tester. At the moment it is not up to 767PIC standards, but hopefully it will come up to that level. As for the VC killing frame rates, in the mean time I am selecting models without the VC. They have models without VC and interior, with VC and without interior, and with VC and interior. It is nice to have the choice to match the capabilities of your system.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

@EoinYou might have the same problem that I have concerning "transactions". Did u see my post to that matter over in the PMDG Forum? So we can stay curious, watch the growing fix/patch and prepare for the "issues" before having them on our own system. Not too bad as well. But I am realy eager to have this plane!Any of you guys who got that manual from Randy, can u send it [email protected] flying for those who already have it and be sure I

:-)Thank you Randy. Much appreciated!

Hi Chris,I must disagree with you about the PMDG panel. It is too "clean", it's hard too read with those tiny buttons, just does not "feel" right, does not give that real cockpit feel that PIC gives. Most of all the panels are not usable for a multi monitor setup as they have huge overlaps in the undocked state (bummer !!!)What a pity, as I'm really searching for a smaller range A/C but PIC767 quality is a hard act to follow...To me a dissapointment and 40 bucks down the hole...:-violin

It may be me being a bit thick ... a blonde moment if you like...... but why weren't the problems with the PMDG 737 seen by the Beta team?? I mean... Frame rates... memory usage... SURELY someone saw this. No??Steve Mhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg2.53Ghz P4 | 512 MB SDRAM | Geforce 4 MX400 64MB | 80GB HDD | WinXP Pro | DX9

(Sorry it fell way back and I guess nobody has seen it. If Randy cannot send it and someone else can, I'd be thankful!)Dear Randy, would it be too much if I asked for them as well?I find it a bit embarrasing asking but if it's not difficult for you, my (only one that currently has enough space) e-mail address is: [email protected] in advance!

Steve, without going into a complete listing here, somehow certain things that were fixed seemed to have got into the final relase. Vnav TOD being one item, so please hold off on the beta tester questions as if we have no idea what we are doing. There are 3 real world NG drivers along with very well known flight sim users and a few like myself who just fly PIC. I do not have frame rate issues, the issue is memory usage and is being adressed. I did not notice this being that my system has a virtual memory setting of 1000 megs along with 512 megs of ram, I do notice it when switching with the VC NOW. Jakky, if you are trying to tell me that PIC 767's main panel looks like a real 767 you are looking at pictures I have never seen! Lee, that is on the list. [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Randy"Steve, without going into a complete listing here, somehow certain things that were fixed seemed to have got into the final relase"Well if that were the case why are`nt the fixes on our machines right now? That is the biggest load of bollocks I`ve read in a long time.In my opinion it`s broke and it needs fixing and I did not intend to pay to test it for PMDG.I`d go along with Lee and hold off for the time being.Oh and by the way how did the bleedthrough on the 600 starboard wingroot get by everyone?

Iron Claw - I absolutely agree. I didn't pay $40 to be a beta tester either!Randy - You tested the virtual cockpit on your machine and it was OK with your huge virtual memory? What about the other beta testers???? Isn't there supposed to be more than one? Surely someone else noticed it? C'mon, that's a load of rubbish. What exactly is your position regarding PMDG? You seem convey that you are part of the staff there. All in all the NG doesn't belong anywhere near the same league as PIC. It will take quite a few upgrades and much money spent by us (the beta testers) before it finally sits next to PIC in the hall of fame. It has promise, but don't make it sound like it is near perfect and all these little problems somehow slipped through the net. PMDG should really look at quality control here.Interesting to see what the cost of the 800/900 will be. It seems (right now) that we'll be charged even more money for stuff such as TCAS etc. Yes I know it is a special TCAS, one that is special in all it does and so on.My advice to anyone who hasn't taken the plunge is to wait to see how the NG develops. It has potential, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should go through the frustration of the registration process only to find out it doesn't do what you hoped.Anyway, having said all that - what is this thread in the PIC forum for anyway? It has nothing to do with PIC..not now.Rich.
