Iron Claw and Rich, [beta tester mode OFF] First off, I don't NEED to make excuses for PMDG, or why some things came about etc, I offered what I know on the subject, there are 19 beta testers which by the way is more than any PMDG has used before. I had made mention of *problems* with the intitial release in this very thred and have also stated that PMDG is right now working hard to fix these issues. Your comments "Rubbish etc" are very offence towards ME personaly. I was asked for my opine here as regards to the product and how it compares to the great PIC 767, I have done that. As you guys speak your mind, so do I. It is my right here unless you think because I am a beta tester I have no true opines about this aircraft? As for your questions about who I am Rich, I am just a beta tester for PMDG. I have no interest further than this. You can either except what I say or ignore it, pretty simple. If Wade had a problem with this thread he could just as easy remove it. He is a mod here so really if you have such a problem with it I suggest you ask him. [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Hi RandyI didn't mean to insinuate that you didn't know what you were doing. I know that's not the case. I was merely wondering how something so blatant could have got past the beta stage and into a "final" release. I feel the fault lies not with the testers, who obviously would have picked these problems up, but with PMDG failing to incorporate fixes, and rushing through a release when the product not finished.A good example of how it should be done is Ernie Alston and his FSBuild 2. We waited and waited for this release, but Ernie held it back until it was perfect in his own mind, and therefore the only tweaks and bug fixes that were needed were very minor ones indeed. The PMDG WILL be a good product, but more thought should have gone into making sure the product was properly finished before release. The old adage "publish and be damned" does not apply to software. I would have been a lot happier waiting for a well finished product, rather than waiting for a fix (or several fixes).Steve M2.53Ghz P4 | 512 MB SDRAM | Geforce 4 MX400 64MB | 80GB HDD | WinXP Pro | DX9

Thanks Steve, I would have waited personaly too if I had any say so, all we can do now is fix the things that others have found. Unlike other projects released that are not looking to further releases with their base at hand, PMDG has to get the 600-700 right in simmers mind if they wish to further the series with the 800-900/BBJ, so I know they will come through.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Guys,I started this thread, but I'm not happy with the way things are turning out for our friend Randy. I sought Randy's opinion in this specific forum because he is an esteemed 767 PIC user and was also on the 737NG beta team, hence I was interested in his valued comparison of the two products.Whilst the 737NG does not appear to be in as mature a state as many of us FS perfectionists would desire, it is a capable product and shows great potential. Please do not use this thread as a means of giving heat to Randy for the few things that slipped through the "beta crack" when, as I'm sure many of you are aware, he was but one of many voices in the beta team for this product. The reason I posted this thread is simple. I am a die-hard 767 PICer looking for a life after FS 2002. With the uncertainty facing a 767 PIC re-release in FS2004, I am grabbing at any straw I can for a successor to my beloved 767 PIC. If Wilco comes to the party then fine, but until now the commitment silence from Wilco has been deafening, otherwise I will keep looking for whatever will give me my 767 PIC equivalence experience fix. PMDG, at the very least, offers a tasty alternative.Gary

Randy, come on! Are you know handing out copyrighted material to others in the form of a Boeing FCTM? That is simply not done!As for my opinion on the PMDG product: I spent too much money on it. I think $40 is too much for a package that contains many serious flaws. And with serious flaws, I mean that they prevent one to make a regular airline flight without trying to manage all the mishaps and bugs that are thrown your way.It hasn't been tested thoroughly and contains so many errors that I am contemplating getting a refund. And the -800/-900 version are at additional cost, so is the BBJ version! The visual model of the aircraft is nice, but not a league above some of the freeware aircraft we're seeing (MelJet etc.). So to me, it should come down to the programming of the cockpit, FMC etc. And although the screens are well done, it has too many holes. And surely I don't like making runway overruns with a light 737-700 as I landed a max landing weight 757-300 with max autobrakes on a really short runway just yesterday. Okay, so the brakes were literaly smoking, but that's how it works.Iz

Randy,It would be much appreciated if you could pass on the Manual to me as [email protected]
