September 16, 200322 yr Don't worry John, the U.S. isn't RVSM airspace yet, so TCAS shouldn't be compulsory. anyway, why not use the squawkbox integrated TCAS? Works perfectly, always use it with the PMDG when I know I'm in busy airspaces and not under ATC control.I already sneaked in on the big guys with my little 737 on the event from Nairobi to Tel-Aviv, hope they didn't mind! :-)Still Boeing family it is. :-))Regards,Bjorn
September 16, 200322 yr Bjorn, That's what I'm doing at the moment... it's...well it's functional anyways ;)I even bought the hugely overpriced Ariane TCAS II to use. It looks right in place colourwise, even though the NG doesnt have a VSI based TCAS.The TCAS works well in an offline enviroment, it even gives aural commands, but since AIBRIDGE doesnt work in FS9.... It doesnt work.JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
September 16, 200322 yr John, there is a version of AIBridge that works with FS9.Also, v3 of Lee's TCAS for the PIC works with FS9. This would save some of you 737 guys some money.
September 16, 200322 yr Bjorn and all,Note the NCA11 airway on our first flight will be RVSM. No need in thinking your AC is not capable because it may not have TCAS. Flying on VATSIM, you have TCAS right at your fingertips within SB so no problem. And the Nairobi-Tel-Aviv flight was advertised as being open to any aircraft as have all the PIC on VATSIM flights over the last year. So no problem there either and I am glad you joined us.
September 16, 200322 yr AIBridge updated to work with SBRelay.http://pt.simflight.com/downloads/AIBridge21.zip SBRelay updated as well: Version 1.2http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/sbrelay
September 16, 200322 yr Yes! Thanks for the Links guys, I'd tried the avsim forums where V2 of AIBRIDGE was and couldnt find it.Brilliant. Nothing stopping me now... and by the way guys-this PMDG 737NG really is working well now, it isnt quite up to PIC standards(and probably never will be when PIC V2 is released ;) )but it's great for the short haulers, just did EGKK->LPMA and it really was a treat in FS9.See ye guys Friday@1845 Zulu ;)JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
September 16, 200322 yr If you guys have any respect for me at all, please do not take the PIC-PMDG comparisons any further in this thread, or forum for that matter. This is all about having fun and freedom to choose is fundamental to it.
September 16, 200322 yr Mike, I must apologise. It came across totally different than what I had meant to say... I only realised after you had pointed it out.I was only trying to say that people who insist on only using FS9 can use the PMDG to tide them by till PIC V2 (:))Sorry :-rollJohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
September 17, 200322 yr Understood John. But you would not believe how easily one little remark turns into insanity these days. No problem, I hope!See you this weekend.Mike
September 17, 200322 yr Three days to launch.UPDATESDo you remember what I said about surprises? I was going to leave you in the dark till the last moment but I would hate to wreck someones day by leaving the completely unprepared.HINT:1. Routing Changes are tipped off on the first post in the route comments.2. If you fly into KLAS, make sure you have all of the STARs for arrivals from the east. You will need one of them and it is not the CROWE6.3. Expect route offset at any time. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=search4. Know how to fly a hold5. Don
September 17, 200322 yr hi alli see the PANC-KMSP route is 2275NM that is alot for a 737, how many hours will this take? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
September 17, 200322 yr About 5 hoursMy best guess based on the information I have is to load at least 33,000 pounds of fuel. How big are your tanks?767PIChttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37466.txt737-300http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37469.txt
September 17, 200322 yr "fuel weight to 199,000 pounds (90.3 kg). That "errr Michael, if your plane weighs 90.3kg without fuel... then i'm pretty sure it cannot be a 767 ;) you must have meant 90.3 tonnesgreetz ;)
September 17, 200322 yr Hi Clayton,I managed to fly the 2000 + NM flight from Nairobi to Tel-Aviv in little less then 5 hours. I had loaded around 32.000lbs of fuel and landed with plenty of it still in the tanks. I had an very good tailwind with active sky on that occasion which helped. If you're using FS9, you can change the load from within the FS9 aircraft menu when you select the PMDG 737. This way you have the higher gross weight version of the 737-700 which will allow you to load full tanks even at max ZFW. So you'll be heavy at take-off but within limits. If you use FS2002 then you should use the PMDG load-editor and lower sensibly your ZFW to allow you to load at least 32.000lbs of fuel, just be be on the safe-side.With Fs9 I even flew from PHNL to KLAX with plenty of fuel remaining.I don't have FS Build 2, but if you do they have include a profile for the PMDG 737-600/700, I believe.Regards,Bjorn
