Post the number of Legs and Routes you flew below:I flew 3 legs: Take Off Land KLGA - KDCA 1713z 1756zKDCA - KLGA 1815z 1857zKLGA - KBOS 1907z 2007zI had to finish after Boston. Noticed a lot of COA pilots at LGA, and that all the AA virtual guys were flying KBGR - KBOS - KBGR, avoiding the busy airspace around KLGA and KDCA.

Well how was it? Was it good or a disaster? Did AAL turn up in force? Did the PIC guys all show up?I know Rob Hall's cat is surviving his windows meltdown. Poor sop. I survived my in-laws and parents in the same room. (In-vision a scene if you would from "Everybody Loves Raymond" with Rays brother, his parents and his girlfriends parents all in the same room)The cake which I made, with the help of my 2 and 3 year old, was heavy and thick. It took a ton of coffee to get down. The ice wine was great! ;0)Better times ahead..

All except Hall and Bev.AAL turned up in force - from what I saw they flew KBGR - KBOS - KBGR, thus avoiding the chaos that was KLGA and KDCA.At KLGA a whole bunch of COA guys showed up as well adding to the Chaos. Throw in the occassional BAW callsign doing long hauls as well.

Completed one leg and a bit (KBOS-KDCA). Had to quit after takeoff at KDCA, plane unflyable with frame rates at 5... I've brought this up in the PIC Flying Club (thanks Bill!). Am I the only turkey out there who gets killed with frame rate drops in high traffic scenarios???? I have the Posky merge, the csl traffic set, working off high speed internet, system P4 2.4, 768mg's ram, Radeon 8500 series vid card. At Washington set my display quality to medium (which is pretty brutal looking) and still had huge drops. In chatting with other folks, I seem to be the only one with this problem. I would have done at least 3 legs yesterday if it wasn't for it. I know this is probably not the best room to bring this up but since you were all in high traffic yesterday thought I would try my luck. It is very frustrating. Thanks in advance for the help!Mike

Mike,I've been dealing with a similar problem (frame rate drop when approaching busy airport) for a while now and here's what I observed. Yesterday, I was following someone on taxi. As long as he was in my view, my rates were around 7 frames per second. As soon as he would get out of my screen (e.g. turning into next taxiway), the frames would pick up to 19 fps. Back in view, frames down to 7 fps again, and so on. Out of curiosity, I checked him out on ServInfo. Turned out his a/c was unspecified, so he was showing in the same a/c as mine (one with pretty big textures). That was the reason why the frame rate dropped. I ended up modifying my textures into DXT3 format. For your reference, my specs: P4 2.2, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9600, using FS2k2 Pro.Hope this sheds some light,Adam

I've been known to fly a CSL aircraft myself for just this reason! Yep, a PIC/CSL merge. ;-)Lee Hetherington (KBED)
