Yes, it is a pity, Bruce. Especially since you know that the developers in the LDS case are not shitheels and have never produced any crap.Private forums are the way it will go from now on. Developers have to protect their investment.http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/siggies/ds.jpg

Well I guess there must be others if you say so (I just don't know of any) but Activesky, PMDG, PSS, Dreamfleet, Flight1, FS2Crew, Radar Contact,Aeroworx, RealityXP, FSNavigator (and I could go on) at least allow prospective purchasers to view posts. Bruceb

And I believe all of those forums are MODERATED... yes, you can READ the entries, but they are vetted BEFORE they get posted. So, you're reading what the MODERATORS allow you to read. There isn't going to be anything overtly critical to read. Not sure that's going to give anyone an idea about how good a product is. I mean, most forums are really just there for SUPPORT... not to give perspective buyers an idea of whatthe product's like.At the Level-D forum users can post immediately, without being moderated. Now, if threads get out of control, then the posts are deleted.Go and post a note in the Level-D general fourm and ask if the product is any good - it will see the light of day. Try doing that at any of the moderated forums.I wish the forums could be open and free to all, but I understand the reasoning of limiting access. If the world was full of honest people... I think we'd see what you are asking for.Flight1 has a 30 day money back guarantee, Bruce.http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/siggies/ds.jpg

Daryl,I think the only moderated forum of the above mentioned is the PSS one. As was this one for a short while. You remember? ;-)And I know for sure that the PMDG and ActiveSky forums are not moderated. Best Regards,

"Yes, and 10,000 of them are answered with: RTFM."yep... sure...and tell me again how I would know that prior to purchase?

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro |  GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K

Clearly we aren't going to reach any agreement on this any time soon. However, I have posted in all these forums over the past six months and my experience is that PSS is the only one where posts haven't appeared straight away. They all certainly have their sprinkling of unhappy customers. The manner in which developers deal with these is one of the yardsticks I use before making a purchase but not one I can use with the LDS 767.I hear what you say about money back guarantees but IMO a poor substitute for caveat emptor. So guess you have a choice, loss of sales to folk like me versus making life marginally more difficult for possible pirates.Bruce

With a 30 day money back guarantee, I'd suggest the bases are covered.Feel free to post questions at the general forum...http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/siggies/ds.jpg

I do have to admit...you are correct on both of those issue, thanks.

My point is that a money back guarantee is no substitute for an open forum like that adopted by all these other developers. But at the end of the day this a commercial decision by the LDS767 developers, however IMHO one that is costing them sales.Bruceb

Not costing them too many sales me thinks.....A good decision by the LDS team to keep the non paying riff raff (pirates) out of the support forums. Lot's of reviews and information in the general forums for people to base their decisions on.Botom line is people who didn't buy the product, don't need support. If you are curious about the quality of the product post a message in any of the flight sim forums, (here at AVSIM for example) and ask owners their opinion of the product and what the issues are. You will get lots of answers I'm sure.

That would be 3500, with 3400 responses stating "RTFM" and another 3200 complaining that that's no response :)
