Level-D 767 Sound-set

Featured Replies

Is the Level-D 767-300 Sound-set produced from the actual B767-300?

The majority are from a 767 cockpit. But not all because for technical and/or practical reasons, some are difficult or even impossible to record with a sufficient good quality in the actual cockpit. But in the final, Ben Brown was able to produce a sound set that brings the perfect sound ambiance of the real cockpit, as it was confirmed by actual 767 pilots.

I am very sorry if my post sounded sarcastic. It was not my intent. Thanks.... So was most of it recorded from an actual level-d sim? Also, is mathematical computational engineering used throughout the sim, to insure the sim on everyone's desktop behaves pretty darn close to the real thing? I know PMDG stresses this practice very extensively in all of their products.

Doing away with the techno babble bravo sierra stuff that others spit out, the answer is: yes, it flies about as close to the real airplane as you can simulate on a PC.

I don't think youd get a realistic soundset recording from a level-d sim

Not that this is the case with the LDS 767, but that would actually depend on the specific r/w sim in question. Some have very good sound, while others are, at best, "not that great". Even two of the same make and model might not sound the same. ;)
