Multi-monitor and FMC guide

Featured Replies

Hi there.I am very interested in starting to fly a widebody in FS2004 and I've noticed that this 767 level-d has a F/O cockpit view. I want to hook up a multi-monitor set up with FS2004 using 1 powerful CPU only.CPU specs: -Processor AMD 3.2 ghz (The 64 series new I guess 3600+?) -Barracuda HD 80GB (My old one)-1 or 2 GB RAM-256mb Radeon AGP-2 17" monitors-1 15" monitor-1 14" TV (Radeon video out)For each additional monitor I have 32mb PCI video cards. If somehow I manage to get a 64mb or 128mb PCI card, is it possible to have both 17" monitors display the Capts and F/O's screen together?I understand that for every display that has an external view such as the front view of the cockpit FS really slows the frame rate. That is why all the other monitors are for the instruments only (pedestal,Overhead, radios etc). If the 32mb PCI card (or 64mb) appears to be too slow for the main cockpit display, I guess that disabling the external view from the cockpit (i.e. having only the instrumens displayed) might increase a bit the frame rate.I am also curious if I hook up another USB mouse in WinXp my copilot friend will be able to operate FS with his own mouse instead of sharing only one.WideFS may solve this issue but is necessary another CPU :-(Regarding the 767, the site www.fmcguide.com has some stuff for the 767's FMC. Is it a safe buy? I didn't trust the site that much. Looks amateur.thanx

If you head over to the OFFICIAL LDS767 FORUM, you will likely get more of a response... http://www.leveldsim.com/forumsYou will only be able to access the GENERAL FORUM, but after you PURCHASE the LDS767, you can REGISTER for access to the main support forum (licensed users only).Members are very helpful, and will answer your questions in the GENERAL FORUM.Regarding the FMCGuides, they are very good. BUT, there is a special expanded PRINT EDITION MANUAL for the LDS767... You can see a sample here: http://www.ldsflyingclub.com/sample.pdfhttp://www.ldsflyingclub.com/siggies/ds.gif

Hi HesselJust wondering what your pc/video card specs are and what sort of frame rates you are getting with your configuration.I'm considering adding a third pci card for FO MIP display but fearful of the frame rate hit with my system.Any info appreciated

Hi Ian,First time we "talk" to each other .....Do know you from your website and talks with Nico and Jeroen (the Dutch level-D community ...).Some pics son http://members.chello.nl/h.oosten and furtherWideView setup. Server athon 3400, GForce 5900Ultra with 3 simple Nvidia based pci card3 (64 mb mem). So one Wideview server screen for sight and 3 instruments screens (till the hardware cockpit is there) and the CDU (of course Nico based) on the TV out.Clients P 3000, GForce 6500 cards, but not interesting for you.Don't really know exact framerates (and they are always subjective, if not measured under standardised conditions; don't look seldom to the numbers) but I'm satisfied.Interesting is that i.m.o. the undocked level-d panels do not influence the framerate signifivant while doing the same with PMDG 747 it's a disaster.Hessel Oosten
