August 31, 200619 yr Hi everyone,I cannot beleive the detail of the AA repaint done by Steve Drabek for the LDS767. I have MipMapped the exterior day .bmp's and the results are truly amazing. Thanks also to Ed Cox and Tony Best for thier part.Cheers, \Robert Hamlich/
September 5, 200619 yr Author >How do you MipMapped the exterior day .bmp's.>>ThanksHi,I use Image Tool which I think can be found at the Microsoft FS2004 SDK site. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...wnloads_sdk.aspJust look for imagetool.exe and you should be able to download it there. After that simply look for the exterior daytime .bmp which will have a "t" in the description (such as Main_t.bmp) open all the bmp's by pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard and by clicking on the file with your mouse. Once opened click on image and then click on "create mipmaps". It will then show several layers (reducing the first then the consecutive images by half) and voila you have created a mimpap for that file. Save and close each one as you go along. You will find that your aircraft will look much crisper even in the preview screen. Your results may vary based on your system specs. Try it on one of your aircraft and see how it turns out.Good luck, \Robert Hamlich/

There is a freeware tool called DXTBMP that makes converting the files much easier. Here is the website: http://fly.to/mwgfx/With the tool, you just open the _t files (only really need to convert the fuse ones, so don't go crazy and mip every _t or it might degrade FPS).The check the box as shown and save the file. All done. :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/156326.jpgIf there is enough interest I can mip the AA livery and upload it. If you could ask over in the LDS forum, that would be a better place than in here, I rarely check this forum anymore. ;)I should try it on my UPS photo-real paint too and see if it looks better. I normally don't include mips becuase on some video cards the textures blur when zooming in and out. Maybe with the newer generation of cards, this is not as much as a problem.Regards,Steve Drahttp://img47.photobucket.com/albums/v144/S...Dra/banner1.jpgDownload my planes at Avsim here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...&Go=Change+View Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here

Looks just like>the real thing in those photos!>>TeroThanks Tero. :)Ed's textures really make this paint what it is...I just had the dubious task of re-fitting his Posky textures to our beloved LDS model. ;)Regards,Steve Drahttp://img47.photobucket.com/albums/v144/S...Dra/banner1.jpgDownload my planes at Avsim here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...&Go=Change+View Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
September 23, 200619 yr Steve has always been my favorite repaint artist on avsim.com...his skins have forced me to get so many addons :(
September 26, 200619 yr >Steve has always been my favorite repaint artist on>avsim.com...his skins have forced me to get so many addons :(Hehe Thanks Dave. :)I've been telling the LDS team that I should be getting royalities for bringing them customers, not necessarily because of my paints, but because I've championed the product ever since it's release.:-lolI can honestly say that it is the best heavy jet addon there is, bar none. There are others that are quite good, don't get me wrong...but its just something about the was they've brought all the parts of a great plane together to make every aspect of it satisfying. From a painter's point of view, the supplied paintkit and packaging program are by far the best I've ever worked with, and I've worked with a few of them. ;)In addition to the fantasic default paints available from Gary and John, just about every repainter out there has painted this bird. In my mind, that is a subtle indication of how good this bird is. Most painters don't have much time to fly, and tend to paint birds they are fond of flying. If Andre, John, Gary, Ben(2), AJ, Terrence Henrik, Corey, Konrad, Max, Bobby, Daniel all have painted one or more LDS 767s, you can figure its a really good plane. :)I've painted over 14, not only because this bird is so easy to paint, I also fly it more than any other I own.I know I will be painting many 757s when it is released, and I'm confident most of the other painters out there will too. I hope they get the paintkit to us soon after the release, or better yet...with the release. ;)I know I'll be converting my AA and UPS paints right out of the gate (I'll have to do some work to get the AA textures done, with Ed's premission of course)Regards,Steve Drahttp://img47.photobucket.com/albums/v144/S...Dra/banner1.jpgDownload my planes at Avsim here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...&Go=Change+View Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
