How well will these work with a flat screen monitor? Will a curved lens distort the picture?

Thanks, that's the link I've been looking for. I'm seriously considering one, as they sound like a great addition.

They come in 2 different groves/per inch versions. Make sure you buy the one with FEWER groves/per inch. These are used for imagery. The other ones are for light diffusion.Michael J.

I've used my fresnel lens with both curved and flat screens. Initially it makes the flat screen look kinda "hollow", but the brain soon learns to compensate for that, and everything is back to normal. Jaap Verduijn.

Effect of fresnel lens on vc is much the same as 2d cockpit - a degree of loss of focus but that offset by increased size and general pleasant appearance. This is bound to be a matter of opinion I think. There is a degree of distortion around the edges, no detraction from the image and again - my range of lens fore/aft movement is severely limited. I use a Sony E400 Trinitron - clear as crystal flat screen and like Chris, I prefer to fly with the lens now.Funny question to Chris and other users - which way round do you prefer the lens? Both ways seem to work well - the "wrong" way round seems to work best!PH

Phil,Haven't tried it much the 'wrong' way round, but it did seem to give a slightly less pin-cushion effect the wrong way. I have been using it the right way (which is convex surface facing the user - sort of mimicing the monitor's curvature) but I will have to experiment some more now you mention it!!BTW, have you tried in in front of your TV ? Wow!!Chris Ehttp://www.circle-software.co.ukhttp://website.lineone.net/~flightsimukAvoid AGP texturing = Better Performance ;)

Just ordered mine :-)How long do they take to deliver? It says up to 28 days?

No to Chris re the TV - you seem impressed! :) Will do soon - Band of Brothers is rerunning on Sunday evenings. My delivery time was 4 weeks.PH
