March 12, 200323 yr Commercial Member *ActiveSky wxRE v1.6 releases - Partnership with FSW Group - ActiveSky v2.0 Announced*Version 1.6 is officially released after a good review by the Beta Team. New features include voice ATIS and FlightWatch readback of decoded weather, an entirely new online International winds aloft engine, much-improved performance, and more options including proxy port control, start paused, and disable all updates during force. Fixes include problems with "////" and KM visibility reports, arrival weather updates and more. The update is available free to all existing wxRE v1.x users at http://www.hifisim.com/downloads.html. v1.6 is available to new users at $19.95 (US) for online purchase and download from http://www.hifisim.com.Version v1.6 is the last scheduled feature update for v1.x, as work will begin on v2.0 designed specifically for use with "A Century of Flight" and its new weather features! In addition, a new partnership with FS Sky World creators FSW Group is announced! Cooperatively, FSW and HiFi will be working to enhance the visual and realism experience of your weather environment for use with the next version of Flight Simulator, "A Century of Flight". New ActiveSky and FSSW versions will take advantage of the new weather engine and use intelligent cloud-set graphic selection. Many features that users have suggested will be incorporated to deliver the most stimulating simulation possible!More information about ActiveSky wxRE and future developments is available at the HiFi Simulation Software website at http://www.hifisim.com. FSW Group's website is at http://fsw.simflight.com.---Thanks to everyone for their excellent feedback and support during the past few months of development... March 12, 200323 yr Great news, Damian.Just downloading the package and I'm very curious about the new features.I'll report my experiences.Until that ... thanks for promised upload day ;)
March 12, 200323 yr DamianIts 1735 Central European Time. I'd like to download V1.6, but the link above for existing V1.x customers doesn't work for me.Could you give me another one please. Thanks!Gavin Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
March 12, 200323 yr Just installed V1.6 over 1.15.The ActiveSky main screen still says v1.15. Is this just a typo in the update or has something gone wrong installing it over the previous version?
March 12, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Revisions to v1.60 (from v1.15)* Version jump was to avoid confusion with the freeware product at v1.5- Completely overhauled winds aloft engine with new international winds aloft support- New winds aloft source, using actual resounding data and forecasts- Added voice ATIS/Flightwatch for voice readback of current and arrival conditions- Supports custom voice file sets with airport names (documentation included)- Added proxy port control via options- Added option to disable all wx updates during force- Added option to start wxRE paused (click refresh to start processing)- Improved performance for less stutters/pauses on some systems- Fixed VATSIM download problem- Fixed problem with cloud bases less than 1000ft at certain airports- Fixed visibility issue with "////" or missing visibility data- Fixed RC3 arrival airport info update process- Fixed RC3 cloud coverage reporting problem- Fixed KM visibility issue- Added exp-currmetar.txt file export for external add-on access (in the export folder)- FOG simulator now disabled when low overcast layer already exists- Documentation updated- Thunder start sound removed- NOTE: REQUIRES FSUIPC v2.972 or later- NOTE: Offline winds aloft is now simulated only (due to restrictions of new winds aloft source) - this should not effect realism of winds aloft for most users - ONLINE mode should thus be used for the highest level of realism and most up-to-date weather- NOTE: Minor variation and inconsistency of voice ATIS information from METAR data is normal and by design for maximum realism

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

March 12, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member It should say 1.6.. something definitely wrong! Make sure you install to the proper wxre folder, you may have chosen a wrong folder... If all else fails, uninstall all wxRE, install base v1.x package, then install the 1.6 update..IF YOU NEED NEW DOWNLOAD LINKS FOR THE BASE PACKAGE:http://www.emetrix.com/cs and submit support request for new download link..Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 12, 200323 yr Same to me, Damian.Setup installed the voice subfolders into the standard folder of ActiveSky (correct?), but wxRE.exe remains as the 1.15 version (system properties).EDIT:**Something's strange**Uninstalling of 1.6 deletes the wxRe.exe 1.15 and you are not able to uninstall whole package (because installer assumes that I have no valid version of ActiveSky).I re-installed 1.0, then 1.15 (which worked perfect). Then I put 1.6 in the same way like 1.15, but wxRE.exe remains as 1.15. No change of this file. Note: Voice folder has been created by setup routine.Don't know, what's going wrong here... :-zhelp
March 12, 200323 yr Damian,Have tried what you suggest - same as Chris who has already replied.I confirm I have installed in the correct folder. The folder now contains things such as wxre-docs.pdf which when opened states v1.6, and revisions.txt which refers to changes to v1.60 from 1.15. Also have a Voice subfolder - however when running ActiveSky it still comes up as v1.15 on the screen!Any more suggestions?Kind regards,Stuart
