April 17, 200422 yr When I load a route and click on the "Process" button, there is a message "Calculating closest wx sites" (or something along those lines), at which point it hangs. Task Manager shows it "not responding". I just installed the latest FSUIPC (3.21), and did not have this problem prior to that, so I'm going back to 3.202 to see if that does anything.Mark Kuebeler
April 17, 200422 yr Mark,All of a sudden this is happening to me also. I don't know what to make of it, but I'm going to email "support" to see if there's an answer. BTW, my route today is KDFW-MMUN with 12 waypoints. Please advise here on this forum if you discover anything. Thanks, Chuck
April 17, 200422 yr FSUIPC 2.20 did not make a difference. In Task Manager I can see AS2004 gobbling up all the CPU until the process is killed. Now I was trying to load a route from KDFW to KPHX. I did have the same problem this morning loading KCVG to KDFW, rebooted the computer, and then it worked fine. At one point during the flight I tried to fetch the weather for KDFW, and AS2004 stopped responding for several minutes before finally coming across with the metar. Could be something screwy with DFW metars today. Mark Kuebeler
April 17, 200422 yr I have also attempted to fly my KATL-KMCO route and had the same problem. As always, I cleared the weather in FSUIPC and even did a cold boot/restart and ended most of my running programs. That left me with 720 mb of memory out of my 1020. With everything running I had about 320 with FS9 going and then dropped to about 290 with Active Sky working (I use MemTurbo to watch usage). But we still have the same problem. The only other thing I can think of is to uninstall Active Sky and then do a reinstall - though I don't think that's the problem! Surely there's an Active Sky expert that will read this thread and offer advice.
April 17, 200422 yr Now it is working for me. First I tried loading a route for KDEN to KLAX, and it loaded fine. Then I tried KDEN to KDFW and _that_ loaded fine. Finally moved to KDFW, loaded up KDFW-KPHX again, and it loaded with no problem. I really hate these nonsensical glitches.Mark Kuebeler
April 17, 200422 yr And... now it's working for me as well. I assume something was going on at the Active Sky weather site. It'll be interesting to see if someone can let us know what was going on. Have a good flight!
April 17, 200422 yr Had the same problem a bit over an hour ago. Could have been something to do with the server as it cleared after being physically shutdown and restarted.Andy b Andy Brockbank
April 18, 200422 yr I had this problem last night, and fortunately figured it out fairly quickly. My VA provides standard routings, and when trying to program one (EGLL-EFHK) in FSNav, I was getting problems. Turned out that in the lastest AIRAC there is a changed/new intersection. I modified my FP with the new intersection and no problems. However, after going through the usual routine of exporting from FSNav, opening in FS9 and re-saving in FS9, then importing into AS, I was getting the same problems with AS hanging. It occurred to me that the changed intersection might have been the problem, so I opened the FP in the FS9 Flight planner, deleted the new waypoint (didn't matter as the PMDG's FMC was going to navigate anyway), saved again, imported into AS and it worked fine.Seems to me that AS didn't recognise the new waypoint. Does this mean that as AIRAC's change routes and waypoints, AS will have increasing difficulty? Jim/Damian?Bruce.
April 18, 200422 yr Well, I'm not sure if that's the cause or not. Reason being that I flight planned using FS9's planner which doesn't have updated AIRAC waypoints. However, I was connected while interlocked with PMDG's 737-700's FMC which was using the latest AIRACs. Could Active Sky be reading "both" flight plans - the imported FS9 plan and somehow comparing it to the FMC plan? I doubt it, but what do you think?
April 19, 200422 yr Hi Bruce,Pretty sure that a new waypoint may cause problems. We did need a base to start from and that is the data from FS04. I know that airports can be added, but not sure about waypoints.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
April 22, 200422 yr My AS2004 is also hanging the last 1~2 weeks whenever I tried to process a route as well.Damian did anything change in your server(s) ? I cannot use AS2004 for 2 weeks now. As soon as I press PROCESS it does not even identify waypoints 1,2,3,4 ... as it used to do. It simply hangs exactly as Mark reported.Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:avsim.com/greece/hvacc]Hellenic vACChttp://vateud.org/images/vatsim-eurs.gifhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
April 22, 200422 yr Hi,Are your routes basicly the same as before?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

April 22, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Kyprianos,What wx are you using? From a certain cycle? If so, which one? I note no problems with the data currently. If using current wx still fails to provide route processing, please send me your current_wx_snapshot.txt file to [email protected] and I'll see what is going on. Thanks!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
April 22, 200422 yr Damian it was few days ago, can't remember.Will do next time it occurs.Thanks ;-)Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:avsim.com/greece/hvacc]Hellenic vACChttp://vateud.org/images/vatsim-eurs.gifhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
