July 24, 200520 yr When i download weather, active sky 5 updates and throws a message: error on submit target folder:c:microsoft gamesflightsimulator 9active skyASVWhat should I do?. Any help? Thanks in anticipation.
July 24, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,That submit folder looks problematic. I suggest checking your FS9Path entry in asv.ini, it should point to your true FS9 folder (not FS9Active SkyASV). Does this help? Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 26, 200520 yr No It does not. The path is correctly specified in ASV.Ini. But still the error message apperas. Can I ignore the error message?.Vinod
July 26, 200520 yr Hi,No, I would not ignore this error. A few things:1. Have you installed the SU2? If not give that a try.2. Please post the contents of your ASV.ini file.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 27, 200520 yr Hi Jim,Thanks for your prompt reply. what is SU2 and where to download it please?.I shall forward my ASV .ini file as soon as possible. ThanksVinod
July 27, 200520 yr Hi,Service Update 2: http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/ASV-SU2.ZIPHope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 28, 200520 yr Hi Jim,As you suggested, I have downloaded the SU2 and installed the same. But still the error persists.Infact I think the error message appears only when I use ICS option of AE. Not when I use Random or manual selection options. I feel there is some link between AE options selection and the error message apperaing as: Error:Folder submit:...... Vinod
July 28, 200520 yr Hi,I need to see your asv.ini when you get a chance.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

July 29, 200520 yr Hi Jim,Please find attached the ASV.ini file.I still feel that there is some connection between Options :ICS+Random and this error.Looking forward to your slution .Vinod
July 29, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,The problem is during the cloud/environment texture submission, just as it is describing. ASV is trying to copy the appropriate textures to the FS9 folder but there is some kind of problem. Basically, it can't copy the texture - your system won't allow it.A couple users had a similar problem a few weeks ago, ended up being some cloud textures set to read only (and thus unable to overwrite). Not sure why this occured (perhaps certain add-on textures). I would check the textures, perhaps copy them all to a temp folder (from FS9texture) then delete them from the original location, then copy them back? You could also verify the attributes of each file, making sure they are not read only. July 29, 200520 yr I just got the same error for the first time tonight. Just for the heck of it, in addition to removing any read-only attributes in the main texture folder, you might do the same for the ASV folder/sub-folders and files. If any read-only file is written to the main texture folder, and then an overwrite attempt occurs, you'd get the same error.DJ

July 30, 200520 yr Chris,Very few modern programs actually use the archive attribute - it was included for the use of old backup programs... Does Active Sky actually use it?DJ
