September 20, 200520 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the new beta to look at.If we have questions about this version's new features/functionality which are not bugs should we ask them here or send email to the bug reports address?
September 20, 200520 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,Here would be fine!!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
September 20, 200520 yr Hi!Just finished a flight with ASV Enhanced, and it's simply amazing! Everything works nice and smooth and the sunset enviroment was magical!I only have one remark. Even before the sun sets, the ground gets too dark. As a result, the aircraft and airport lights are not on yet (I guess 'cos in reality it's still early). I have no picture yet, but maybe I'll be able to post one soon. Other than that the sunest colors are GREAT!
September 20, 200520 yr Yes! Yes! Yes!!I so can't wait to test this out later this evening. whats the synopsis with the low ifr ceilings? Can someone comment on if <500 foot ceilings are accurately displayed?thanks for making the beta available to the public and for all your efforts!
September 20, 200520 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,Thanks for that..You are using it correctly..By duplicating what you have shown I noted that everything in the engine works correctly, loading initial weather for the FS location at the proper time (KSEA in my test)... but the closest station report is using the pre-updated weather which, when "ignore FS location until ready" is used, and a flightplan has not been processed, provides the initial ASV data instead of the updated location data. If you were to process a flightplan first, the closest station report would be correct... We will get this addressed as well as any other issues that are found. As to default start airport, you can do this (sort of) by quickly entering a flight plan with departure/destination/altitude only. We will work on a default startup airport option in a future update. Thanks for your feedback!!!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
September 20, 200520 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,We noted no issues with low IFR ceiling since we added the Force Lowest Ceiling option. I am not sure however that our beta team has specifically tested for <500 ceilings... in our previous tests this issue did not occur on all setups and I had trouble duplicating myself (with the exception of the conflicting METAR cloud layer info as fixed by the lowest ceiling option). If you have any problems with such ceilings please e-mail us the info as described at the top of this thread, and we'll be sure to get it resolved ASAP!Thanks, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
September 20, 200520 yr Tried it out this evening and really great! Sunsets are very nice and it's very good also that the progam waits and checks now to see which airport you're really at:) Thanks!!!!!!
September 21, 200520 yr Commercial Member > whats the>synopsis with the low ifr ceilings? Can someone comment on if><500 foot ceilings are accurately displayed?I just headed out to St. John, New Brunswick which was reporting 1/4 SM visibility, light rain showers and fog with vertical visibility of 100 feet and took off. When I got to 120 feet AGL I was in the soup! I'm going to be looking for some more places to test in the next few days, but if this first flight was an example of how the new low ifr ceilings have been done, wow!!!
September 21, 200520 yr Hello Hifisim,Well there have certainly been significant improvements with the new beta, however the ceiling issue has not been completely resolved. In regards to duplicating the problem try these settings in WX configurator:7SM OVC001The fundamental problem with fs9 still exists. Visibility and ceilings are not independent variables. Despite setting the ceiling to 100 ft the high visibility overrides this variable. The conditions departing the airport are never the same as arrival. Using the settings above I do not hit the clouds until 2600 ft directly over the airport departing. This is with slewing and departing normally even with the "Force lowest ceiling
