June 27, 200718 yr Hi,Uninstall SP1Uninstall .NET2.0Reinstall .NET2.0Reinstall .NET2.0This order has worked for others!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 27, 200718 yr Hi Gary,If you don't run ASX does this happen?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 27, 200718 yr Hi,Make sure Show Updates is checked on, on the Add/Remove screen. Thenit shows up right under FSX.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 28, 200718 yr Jim, this hasn't worked for me either nor has deleting an extra occurrence of simconnect.dll (which another thread says one shouldn't do).Any rough idea of when a service release might appear?I'm glad it's working for most others but I'm afraid I have nothing to show for my rather lavish expenditure.
June 28, 200718 yr Hi,We hope to be testing soon and then release soon after that. I can't be more specific because that is all I know right now.Hang in there,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 2, 200718 yr Jim,Previously you had stated if we delete sp1, then uninstall and reinstall net2.0, then reinstall sp1 that might solve the problem. I followed your suggestion to the letter. I then reinstalled ASX.By the mear fact that I have ASX installed on my hard drive, locks up FSX. I unstalled ASX and FSX runs great. I thought maybe this will help you to solve the problem.Gary
July 17, 200718 yr Sorry for dredging up a slightly old thread, but I was having a similar problem with FSX crashing anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes after loading up the sim. After FSX crashed, I noticed looking at the status window in ASX that the last two times I had a crash, it happened exactly at the time ASX was refreshing the weather. I disabled manual downloads and had no further crashes. I'm not sure if all of this is a coincidence or not, but I thought I would throw it out there for consideration...I should also note that my graphics card recently died on me (although the symptoms leading to it started after I'd solved the FSX crashing issue), so I can't fully say that that was not involved somehow also. Thanks,Dave ReageCYHZ Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU
July 17, 200718 yr Im also getting FS crashes continuosly when using ASX.I have read numerous posts saying to uninstall SP1 and then re install it.As your supposed to intall SP1 on a Clean install of FSX does that mean you have to remove any addons and tweaks before you re install the SP1 or do you just un install and re install straight away? Also can you just re install the patch over the top without un installing replacing any messed up files?Ive done all the suggestions here with no sucess exept the SP 1 reinstall as I dont want to completely mess my FSX up. Ive reinstalled FSX so many times im not sure how many activations i Have Left.Could someone clarify this please. Many thanksRichard
July 17, 200718 yr Hi,Yes, you can just uninstall the SP1 patch and reinstall it without messing up any other files.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 17, 200718 yr Thanks for the info.I bit the bullet and uninstalled and then re installed anyway hoping that FSx would run and luckily it did. Ijust flew for an hour out of Heathrow heading north with ASX running and didnt get a crash .Before I had 3 failed flights out of Heathrow crashing first over Windsor Castle area and twice north at WOBURN intersection. Also had crashes out of Dublin and Sydney airports. Will do further testing tommorrow but hopefully re installing SP1 has fixed this problem. Some addon must have screwed FSX up but couldnt say what as i have So many.I noticed a new Simconnect dll in my windows folder dated today so it must have updated it.Almost gave up and uninstalled FSX as it was totally useless at present,Havent finished a flight for over a week now.Very frustrating.Regards
July 18, 200718 yr HiJust done further testing and re installing SP1 seems to have done the trick.Flew EGLL-EGNS with FSDS Viscount with ASX running and no crashes. This flight was guaranteed to crash after about 5 mins in the air prior to reinstalling the patch. What baffles me is I could sit on the ground for hours without a crash but as soon as I got airborne it would crash.Still early days but hopefully the problem is now solved as it was driving me nuts.I reverted back to flying FS9 for a few days cause i was fed up trying to troubleshoot this problem. You really notice how far superior the ground and sky textures are in FSX compared to FS9 when you have flown FSX for the last couple of months then fly FS9.FS9 textures appear very cartoon like.I would recommend anyone having Constant FS crashes to reinstall SP1 as your first option. I was reluctant to do so as I thought I might mess my whole FSX installation. Wish I'd done it a couple of weeks ago when my problems really started,it would have saved me so much frustration.RegardsRichard

I downloaded the file from the Flight Sim Insider sight. I shall try and just reinstall it, hope that solves the problem. Thought my problems had gone away, but they still happening. CTD on almost all long flights.Fingers crossed yet again.
