June 10, 200817 yr I'm posting this in both the HiFi Sim forum and the Radar Contact forum because I don't know which is causing my problem.I live in Sacramento and every time I try to fly around the Sacramento and Northern California area I get absolutely impossible altimeter settings, below 27.00.I receive the altimeter setting from Radar Contact but as I understand it RC is getting the info from ActiveX. When I press the "B" key to auto-reset the altimeter it tries to reset to the given setting but cannot go below 27.00. I get altimeter settings given as low as 26.78 and even 25.75. This obviously causes problems because I keep getting chewed out by the RC controller for busting my altitude but although my altimeter is showing, for example, 3,000 feet, I'm actually around 500 feet. Makes for some pretty interesting ILS approaches to say the least.Would appreciate any help you guys can give me.
June 10, 200817 yr Hi Jeff,I need you to know that you are the only one reporting this. I know I have tried to reproduce this, but we'll see what we can do.What is the pressure being shown in ASX and in the plane? What happens if you try a default plane?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
June 10, 200817 yr Hello,FWIW, I've had this happen to me, also. It was a couple of months age, off the coast of England. I've since lost the weather data, so it's doubtful I can reproduce any time soon. I was using the Eaglesoft Twin Commanche.I didn't think to try using a default a/c.
February 12, 200917 yr Hi folks, maybe it is not an active sky problem. I ran into the same problem (New York - Detroit) with just a weather theme downloaded from one of the AVSIM libs. It says that current altimeter setting is something like 26.65lima

Could just be a little corrupt data maybe. usually a restart fixed it. Sometimes a reboot also when I hear ATC telling an AC to descend to FLT Level 910. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
November 2, 200916 yr I just had something like 33.77. I discovered the LDS 767 maxes out at 32.01. In fact, ASA reported 43.37 for KDCA. I'll try to get a screenshot next time.
November 6, 200916 yr I also have problems with the altimeter settings in ASX.On a flight of approx. 150 miles I'll get a setting from RC4of say 30.09 and about two minutes later I'll get a settingof 29.84, then about two minutes later I'll get anothersetting of around 30.08. These constant changes continuethroughout the entire flight. I know this isn't realistic. These setting are actually changing because when I get a change I hit the B key and my setting change to what RC4 reports. Is there a fix for this problem. Arnold
November 6, 200916 yr Hi,Do you really mean ASX? It's OK if you do, but I was wondering.Th only way you can have pressure smoothing is through the pay version of FSUIPC.Is AS showing the pressure changes as well? Thanks,
