Well, I think I may only be partially misinformed. This is from what appears to be an excellent controlled test, from hardocp.com, but is looking at the 6800 Ultra, which I failed to note:"In Flight Sim 2004 the BFG GeForce 6800Ultra OC is much faster than the X800XT-PE. A quick look at the above graph spells out the BFGTech card as pulling easily ahead of ATI's flagship. Even the non-oc NVIDIA GeForce 6800Ultra is faster than the X800XT-PE overall in this game. The BFG GeForce 6800Ultra OC has a faster minimum, maximum and average frame rate."At 1600 x 32 x 4x x 16x: the 6800U STILL outperforms the ATI card: GF6800U: 29.1 X800XT: 28.5Granted, the GT isn't the U. But since their cores are the same (i believe), and there is some OC tolerance, I'm guessing again that bang for buck, the BFG6800OC compares favorably to X800XT.Where do you get that "The X800XT outperforms the 6800 ULTRA at high res with say 4xaa and 8x aniso ;)"Have you seen benches on the GT vs the XT in FS9?

Actually from Hardocp too ;)Their first reviews the X800XT easily outperformed the 6800 ULTRA in FS 2004. I will have a second look what happened now. I noticed on the CPU scaling review the 6800 U scaled favourable with FS 2004edited since I just noticed they are compairing with the X800 PRO which the 6800 GT most often out perform ;)The X800XT isn

Yes here are the results in FS2004 at 1600x1200, 4xAA, 16xAF:Average FPS:X800XT-PE: 28.56800 Ultra OC: 30.56800 GT OC: 28.8It appears even the GT outperforms the XT-PE, no? This again, is from hardocp.com. Of course you should get something for your 220M transistors eh?Not too sure I like the less than perfect banding/feathering in the water reflections. I wonder if this is true with the newer 3rd party reflections???

The X800XT PE was not overclocked you can of course overclock that too ;).How about the minimum fps:s that is what interests me. And about the 222 million transistors. If it wasn

If you look at the apples to apples section on both reviews at hardocp.com you will find FS9 perf on all those cards. Yes, I noticed perf in the other games. No, I didn't know about the shader 3 transistor connection. Anyway, 6800 GT OC looks great so I think I will prob go buy one.Noel

Yup that seems to be the best choice if you don

Hi John I just got mine and will be installing it shortly--the 6800GT that is. My brother put one in his 3.06 machine and it sounds awesome from tests we've run, versus his old 9700 Pro.Noel

John... after Monday don't be surprised to see your fellow simmers casting their eyes away from you... don't be surprised if some of us put up snide remarks to your posts... don't be surprised to read that you were crazy to spend that much money on a GPU... don't be surprised to see others salavating when looking at your new sig... IT'S ONLY JEALOUSY, MAN!!! :-) :-) Congrats on the new card ,GregEdited because this keyboard still can't spell.
