What card did you have before? If it was nVidia did you make sure to thoroughly clean the registry of it's drivers? You chould check the SmartGart tab in the Catalyst control panel. Make sure that the AGP speed is max for your motherboard. Also, check DirectX to make sure that all DirectX Features Acceleration tabs are enabled. If you find any problems with the above then you either have leftover nVidia drivers causing problems or you need to reinstall your motherboard chipset drivers.Hope this helps,Greg

What video card did you have before? Did you thoroughly uninstall it and clean the registry before installing this card? If you get such low frames with default scenery and those settings something is seriously wrong with your installation.I haven

where can i see the DirectXi checked 'add remove sofware' and there are no Nividia things in there....i had an MSI FX5600 (orsomething like that)should i return it to shop? or are there other options...let me know asapNickPS while flying through the ALPS (settings still mediumhigh) i get 30FPS.... what you getting????

DirectX can be seen by clicking on Start>Run> type "dxdiag". Allow the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to stabiliize, then click on the "Display" tab. Halfway down the page on the left side is a window titled "DirectX Features". All three features should be enabled.Check SmartGart by clicking Start>Run> type "smartgart". All four settings (2 PCI and 2 AGP) should be on.I suspect though that there are still nVidia driver remnants left over in your registry. If you are not confident in what you are looking for in the registry then you SHOULD NOT mess with it. You can do irrepairable damage to your O/S if you delete even just a single system critical registry key. If you bought the card through a computer shop and had them install it, then you should take the computer back to them and have them clean the registry (assuming they know what they are doing inside the registry). If you installed the card then I recommend you find someone near you to assist in the registry cleaning.Once you have the registry clean of all nVidia driver remnants you should reinstall the m/b chipset drivers, then DirectX, and finally the Catalyst drivers.Your 9800 is fine... the problem is with your system. I hope you persist in getting the card to run with your system. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the performance gain you'll see over your old 5600.Good luck,Greg

If you are not handy with the registry a clean reformat never hurts anything :) Will take 1-2 hours of your time though but it

taking very long to download...may it have something to do with fs9.cfg??btw i did the following and there was a slight increase in performance: in the 3D tab i did custom and then put both sliders to max and the fps at JFK tower went from 18 to 22 not mutch but its a start 18 fps more to go.....um still bit unsure what u mean about the data of my pc :S ahah srry..btw do you think it could be the settings? which settings are crucial for a good run? and i read something about how to connect the card to which power supply?
