August 4, 200421 yr Hi Nick,Your CPU results are about right but the rest are way down compared with mine.Try running 3D Mark 2003 again, but this time first check you have done the following:Go into Display Properties and click on the Advanced button and then the Direct 3D tab.1. Check 'Application Preference' for both Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering2. Move the sliders for Texture preference and Mipmap Detail Level to 'High Performance'3. Wait for Vertical Sync slider should be either 'Application Preference' or 'Always Off'Now, run 3DMark 2003 and post your results.Don't forget to restore your original settings. These changes should only be made to ensure you get the highest scores while Benchmarking with 3DMark.My results:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/86677.jpgMikeP4 2.4GHz (400FSB), 1Gig PC2100 DDR Crucial, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (Omega 2.5.36b), SB Audigy (5.12.0001.0443), Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 17" TFT LCD 20ms Monitor (1280x1024x32), Gigabyte GA-8IRXP MoBo, Ultra-Quiet PSU 400W, WinXP Home (SP1), DirectX 9.0c, AGP Aperture = 128MB
August 4, 200421 yr Nick, you do have FFB's 'Ground Bumps' turned off, case you have FFB device? AFAIK, Amsterdam in the nl project weighs quite heavy... Turn off all the shadows perhaps. Where's your AI slider? Traffic add-on? Also, do you have all your mainboard and other drivers loaded? I.e. Intel's 'infs?' Very important for your system, is a utility called the IntelApplicationAccelerator (IAA). If you don't have it, get it ASAP @ Intel's support pages. Make sure UDMA is enabled, etc. One last question, is the 133MHz mention under FSB the correct frequency for your CPU? Maybe others can clarify? Good luck and kind regards Jaap
August 4, 200421 yr Author First of all Jaap, i dont really understand all the things ur saying i kno some about pc's but not allot, --> FFB? August 4, 200421 yr Hi Nick,FFB? = Force FeedbackAFAIk? = 'As far as I know'IAA = Intel Application Accelerator...Quote: "The Intel® Application Accelerator is designed to improveperformance of the storage sub-system and overall systemperformance. This software delivers improved performancethrough several ingredient technologies (components).Certain components will be available only on Pentium® 4processor-based systems running Microsoft Windows 2000 andWindows XP. Software installation is flexible and fullyautomated for Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 SecondEdition(SE), Windows Millennium Edition(Me), WindowsNT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP operating systems." UnquoteGo to your Motherboard's website and look in the drivers section. It is likely you will find the software there. If not, then try one of these links:http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...p?ProductID=663http://www.pcanswers.co.uk/downloads/defau...ubsectionid=376http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_desc...id,22740,00.aspYour latest 3DMark results suggest to me that your system is performing up to spec. Please also note that from your captured image it is clear that you have not restored your Direct3D settings - performance may be okay but image quality for me would be totally unacceptable. There is no Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic filtering or MipmappingTry installing IAA if you have not already done so - should have been part of the Motherboard's installation routine after the board's drivers were installed. If you purchased your PC it may be this aspect has been overlooked as it's not absolutely necessary for correct PC operation - just makes it perform better ;)MikeP4 2.4GHz (400FSB), 1Gig PC2100 DDR Crucial, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (Omega 2.5.36b), SB Audigy (5.12.0001.0443), Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 17" TFT LCD 20ms Monitor (1280x1024x32), Gigabyte GA-8IRXP MoBo, Ultra-Quiet PSU 400W, WinXP Home (SP1), DirectX 9.0c, AGP Aperture = 128MB

August 4, 200421 yr "i read something about how to connect the card to which power supply?".......can you elaborate on this a little. Your card appears to be working so I can only assume that it has been installed correctly by whoever built your PC.Mike
August 4, 200421 yr Author yeh it is connected correctly because or else it wouldnt work at all...the card needs an extra power supply but it is connected good...i still dont know what is going on....friend is coming maybe today with an extra harddrive i will instal fs on there and see if its the same prob...if no then i really dont kno what to do than return it :(:(:P
August 4, 200421 yr Frankly I think with your slow processor and especially the slow memory you cannot expect more from the card as it is the CPU and memory holding you back, not the card. 3DMark is much more depending on the graphics card than FS.Alex
August 4, 200421 yr Yes Gasebah is probably right. I see no problems in your dxdiag. But do try it on a fresh install and see what happens. I do remember I lost tons of performance when running my 2500+ at stock speeds versus 3400+ speeds ;). Still not that bad but I do have some faster DDR 400 memory at faster timings.
August 4, 200421 yr Author but the strange thing is i had an MSI FX5600 before and it had higher fps than the ATI RADEON 9800pro i have now...so it just doenst make snenceand 768DDR ram is not enough??let me know what to do...cheersNick
