Virus? How to remove?

nope... not interested in paying this their "fee's" for over the phone support.. knowing them, thats what they would try to. Im not even concerned about norton at this point. Any support they offer, is charged for. As a paying customer, i dont agree with that.Ahhh well, hopefully i get this pc up on its feet some time in my life.

Except, the message is written in spanish, and also i had it translated... and it is for shure a virus.. cant get over why no one else has this.. im just going to take it in next week or friday and have it reformated. Which infact i cant do because i get a huge error screen when i try to re-install windows... long, and complicated..

I am not for the death penalty under most circumstance on the account of wrong people being convicted an all.But I tell you... If there was one crime that a person should be hanged for is.. if they send these virus or adwares.:)I hope we can get to sue the organizations that advertise using these methods. The other day I got an American Express ad from my resident evil adware virus. Now, why can't I sue the crap out of Amex for violating my computer without my permssion?

Not Sure if you got this resolved or not, but you might try to google the quoted spanish message text and add virus removal to your search term, and see what comes up.If you have it, chances are others have too, but before you click on a link in the google search, look for a link with a major site in it, say syamantec, avast, avg, etc.....As an aside I thought I read somewhere else around here you get what youy pay for and Norton was worth it. ;-)Just goes to show that NO virus software Freeware or Payware catches everything. I'm not busting on you, it's just that irony popping out again.Good luck, and hope you get it fixed. Also, did you run Stinger?http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=stingerRun it before you go paying for support, and run it in safe mode.Regards,Joeaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

>I have a virus norton cant even pick up on. It comes up, with>a countdown from 30secs, saying it will restart FS, then below>that, a message is written from the author in spanish. Had a>contact translate it, and i will say, he seriously should be>skinned for this.Absolute no-brainer.Here's the solution.First off, this is not a worm. All it really does is schedule 24 tasks in Windows Task Scheduler; each task then runs a "shutdown" command. To make matters worse, each time you reboot (and you see all those little DOS windows pop up), it schedules up to 24 more tasks in the scheduler. Neat, huh? :)First off... the next time it happens, just press the START button, then RUN, then type "command" (without the quotes, of course). In the command window, type "shutdown -a" (again, without the quotes). This will halt the shutdown procedure so you can fix the darn thing. Now you can completely fix it. All you have to do is this:1. Delete the tasks in Windows Task Scheduler to solve the problem. Just press the START button, then ALL PROGRAMS, the ACCESSORIES, then SYSTEM TOOLS, then SCHEDULED TASKS. You'll see a slew of tasks scheduled that run the shutdown sequence. Highlight them all and delete them.2. Go into your /Windows/System32 folder and delete the file called "YV-239P.exe" (sometimes it's named YV-****.exe where the asterisks vary....however, that's the file you want to delete). In some variants, it's the thing doing the rescheduling. You're done. Enjoy. Remember that NO virus scanner will pick this up since it's really not "viral". There IS no infection; just a series of scheduled tasks. You can run all the anti-viral, anti-spyware tools in the world and it will never be picked up. Annoying as all heck. Nevertheless, it's an easy cure.Hope this helped.
