Difference between the 600 and 3,7 EE (have read up on it now ;) ) is that the 3,7 EE has both the cache and cpu able to operate at 64 bit plus the 266 bus instead of 200. However the 3,7 EE doesn

Sweet! Thanks for the link, I just purchased it earlier this month so it will work out perfectly. I'm not looking forward to having to load up everything again... Oh well. But if the performance is better, It will definately be worth it

How is your Audigy 4 btw? did you have an Audigy 2 before so you could compare :)

You can always dual boot :-)

Yeah but when your XP 32 installation get screwed you are stuck with your 64-bit version :).I will make a Ghost copy though and hope my mainboard doesn

You were right about it not running on my cpu, i just talked to Dell tech support and they told me that the processors they currently have do have build in EM64T but it is not enabled by Intel. So no 64 bit OS until the new Dell Gen5 is out with dual core he said. That is however not what they told me when i bought it, so this is the last time i buy anything from them.

You should be able to return it if you want to. I mean they can

Looking forward to some more reports and stories before I jump ship to 64-bit :) Some actual benchmark results from FS and other programs/games would also be nice, other than "feels smoother". That's too subjective. For example, FS always "seems smoother" when I've had a couple of beers but framerate is still the same :-hmmm

Once I get my compuer I intend on doing an acutal review with data and benchmarks and submitting it to AVSim for publication.

Well since much of the improvements in X64 is around the RAM and pagefile handling it

Well that's too bad, my OEM version isn't wanted by Microsoft for this upgrade. Oh well, I'll just wait til I can get an OEM version of the 64bit OS for a cheaper price, it will give companies enough time to update their drivers anyway. I love the audigy 4. Less performance hit than my 2 and 5.1 seems to actually work while I had nothing but problems with a 5.1 speaker system and the audigy 2.

Okay any dolby encoding capabilities (say yes yes yes please :))dolby encoding not decoding have home theater speakers and am waiting on soundstorm 2 which never comes

Hi Alex, reading your last post I went: 'Uhhh!?' What was it exactly that didn't qualify your (brand new!) OS-version for the upgrade? I'm very curious. I also asked my retailer what was going to happen. Their reply was that the guidelines haven't been set yet. Now, what good is MS' offer if you either doesn't qualify or the guidelines aren't set-up before the 30th of July deadline? Cheers, good luck and kind regards Jaap

Update: my new computer is on final with ETA 5 May 2005...report will come very soon after I gets it.

Im looking forward to hear how FS9 runs on this OS, im still not sure about whether it will run on my system, nobody at Dell techsupport seem to know anything about 64 bit hardware or software. I ordered the 64bit OS trial version from MS, but its been backordered, so it could be christmas before i see it :).
