April 28, 200521 yr I will have the OS next week so if you have any horror stories about this now OS please share.About drivers i know both nvidia and ati have 64 bit drivers avaliable, but there dont seem to be drivers yet for many other things. Microsoft says that 32 bit applications will run equal if not better on this OS, i dont think i will get better performance with FS9, but it would be cool if i did.OHN
April 28, 200521 yr I'll tell you as soon as my Athlon 64 computer comes in...I will be dual booting XP Pro 32 and 64 bit for comparison.

April 28, 200521 yr I can tell you already :).Windows boot faster. Everything indeads goes smoother including FS9 :).However with some small apps there is still compability problems.
April 28, 200521 yr Is there an upgrade price? I just purchased an OEM version of XP SP2. I should have held out for the 64 bit version.
April 28, 200521 yr Author >is your processor that new 6xx series? The 600 series and the 3.73ee is build on the same core, the biggest difference is the price :-eek, they both offer EM64T support.
April 28, 200521 yr I have a dual boot with 32 and 64 Windows and while the frames are the same, FS just is smoother. Switiching views is instant while under 32BIT windows sometimes it takes a second or so, textures load instantly and when you switch views, at times the textures have disappeared, not under the 64BIT for me anyways. It looks very promising even if the game only runs 32BIT.This topic here has lots of info as well.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=10217&page=2
April 28, 200521 yr Author Yes they are the first processors from Intel that have 64 bit extension turned on.
