July 23, 200520 yr I too just bought an LCD monitor as a 2nd monitor. (Samsung 710N-2). There are two issues:1. even if I change the FS resolution to 1280 x 960 the monitor driver does some sort of autoadjust and I still get elongation. Why would this be, and how can I fix it? (the guages don't bother me as much as the distortion of the view which is not acceptable; it warps flying and the scenery)2. The darkest image is not very dark, it's a slight gray, even with brightness and contrast minimized. This is dramatic enough to make night flying unusable. Is this because I have a faulty monitor? I would gladly sacrifice high-end brightness for a true dark night, like on my CRT.Jon My blog
July 26, 200520 yr This is the way LCD monitors work.. both issues are normal behavior.Keep the settings at the native resolution. As mentioned above, you can grab the edge of the secenery with the mouse and pull it down, if it really bothers you.. same for the panel.. Bert
